With the newly renovated rooms having laminate floors, is the noise produced on floors above you cause more noise so a top floor would be best. OR is the new floors not an issue and additional noise would not be a problem.

When I stayed at Pop, pre-laminate floors, I always asked for (and received) fourth floor on the lakeside.

We wanted it for the views, but it will work for noisy footsteps. :)

Prior to the renovations, we always asked for the bottom floor simply because of its ease of access. We stayed on the bottom floor post-renovation, and only experienced a few noise issues. The biggest one was a kiddo who was taking a mid-day break, having some fun rolling some type of toy across the floor. Not a huge deal, but it nixed our napping plans a couple of days.

On our trip last week, I requested bottom floor again, but we ended up on the 4th floor. While I wasn't necessarily a fan of the elevators/stairs after a long day, I loved not having anyone above us. I think we are newly-minted top floor people.

I've had two very different experiences in the refurbished rooms at Pop. Both times we were in a first floor room (what I had requested). In November we had a very quiet stay. I was only aware there were rooms above ours one night when it sounded like suitcases being pulled in or out. Last month, however, we encountered quite a bit of noise. I am certain the carpet would have acted as a noise buffer. It sounded like the people above us were tap dancing. It was bothersome and went on for some time; our white noise machine did little to block the sound. We've never encountered noise like that at Pop before, and we've stayed there many times (at times in the past we were aware of people in the room above us, but it wasn't actually disturbing us). Still, I will continue to request a first floor room; I find the convenience outweighs the possibility bothersome noisy neighbors.

I stayed on the ground floor in building 8 (renovated) two weeks ago and didn’t hear steps above me. Some plumbing noises, but not steps. We were out of the room from 7ish until 9 or 10pm most days, so maybe we missed higher traffic times.
I had asked for a top floor to avoid noise, but ended up glad we didn’t have to deal with stairs or the elevator ever.

We have stayed at Pop numerous times, on all floors at least once pre-renovation. We stayed in a renovated room on the second floor on our last trip, and I didn't notice more noise than on any previous trip because of the laminated floors. The only 'noisier' thing I noticed about the renovated room was the bathroom fan, which supposedly is on a motion sensor, but in the room we stayed in it seemed to run randomly, day or night regardless of movement in the bathroom.

We always ask for top floor at any resort. I’m sensitive to sounds so eliminating sounds from above definitely helps me sleep. You’ll still hear some plumbing and maybe neighbors next door but our stay in March was great!
