Which Entrance to Use and Best Way to Get There

I'm making my first DL trip this week. I've got a convention in Anaheim and will be coming in late Thursday night. I'm staying at the Disneyland Hotel. I've got to be at the Anaheim convention center at 8am to set up my booth. Since most of it is done, I'll only spend about 30 minutes completing it. I understand there is an entrance to Disneyland at both Main Street and Tomorrowland. Since I'll be coming back from the convention center, would I be better off walking back to Downtown Disney and catching the monorail there or taking a cab from the convention center direct to one of the gates. Which gate allows me quickest access to the parks?

The entrance at Tomorrowland is by way of the Monorail. You just catch the M-rail and cruise right in. Provided you already have an addmission ticket.

The main gates are closer by far! It would be faster to walk to the front gates from the convention center (and cheaper than a cab) than to walk to the DTD monorail station, not to mention there might be a line at the monorail station and you don't know how often the monorails are running.

The walk from the convention center to the main gates is probably about a 10min brisk walk or a 1-2 min taxi ride. The walk from the convention center to the DTD monorail station is probably about 20 min, then you might have to wait in line for another 10-15 min to board and get going, then it's a 5 min ride until you actually disembark with a total of about 35-40 min until you are actually in the park.

Thanks for the great info! 10 minutes to walk to the main gate isn't bad at all. I will most likely just do that. Sounds like the convention center is a little bit further from my hotel than I was thinking, but still not too far.
