Which EMH do you use?

In 2 on-site stays in the last few yeas we've never used EMH once. It's just worked out that way - not by intention. The first trip the kids just couldn't stay up late enough and we were always heading back to the resort before park closing. And, no one was interested in getting up early for am EMH.

The last trip was my mom and I and we were there for just a couple days. We were so commando that we wore ourselves out and were just too tired to stay for EMH.

So, this September I'm bound and determined to try pm EMH. The kids are older now and can stay up a little later than the last trip. Which EMH is your favorite and what are your favorite things to do? We will be there 9/20 and its DH, DD 10, DS 7, and I. We'll be staying at BCR.

Thanks!

We like the evening EMH, we are not morning people so we would never do morning EMH. We never attend the park that has morning EMH because we don't want to get to a park that is already busy and we don't want to get up that early. One year we were there with my sister and her family and the little ones fell asleep in the strollers and the adults took turns riding the coasters over and over again. We had done kid rides all day so it was really nice getting to do the adult rides. Last time we went though (Nov 2012) the evening EMH was a lot busier than I remembered. We didn't get much done but still had fun riding a few rides and then headed back to the room. I don't think we have ever stayed the full EMH.

Evening...I like sleeping in and relaxing on my vacations. Plus I'm super cranky early in the morning hahaha ;) I know some people have said that the evening hours are too crowded for them, but I have never had that experience at any time of year. And I love the Parks after dark and half-empty!

We do both. DH is a commando. The AM ones are less busy, and we can get more done. The park seems to get busier in the PM with EMH with all the people with PH who started at another park and came later for the EMH.

with kids: MK morning EMH only
without kids: any of the evening EMH :thumbsup2

the evening ones are more fun IMO, but it'll probably be a good while before we get to do those again!

I love morning EMH - I seem to leap right out of bed at WDW where I languish at home, and morning EMH gets the most accomplished (to me).

I do EMH every morning I'm at WDW that it's available; I love jumping from ride to ride with no lines and leaving the park when everyone else is pouring in. With FP+, I'm able to get the rides I want at my second park.

In the past, we use to skip morning EMH. However, I may have to re-evaluate that if I keep reading reports about rides being packed at 9:30am. I may have to bite the bullet and give up an hour of sleep.

Evening EMH.. yes love these. Epcot is nice. Get to book a late dinner and then just stroll. Love walking the countries late at night with minimal crowds. And Magic EMH is great, especially when the park stays open till 1 or 2. Between 12 and 2 is some prime ride time.

Night EMH's for sure. On vacations we like sleeping in somewhat and relaxing. Have a nice meal than head over to a park for evening EMH very enjoyable. I can't imagine doing some of the morning EMH's get up at 6ish on vacation? No thanks.

Don't think we have ever taken advantage of the morning EMH. We're on vacation so getting up that early isn't something we really like to do. As far evening EMH.... We love them! Definitely take advantage of them every trip. Our favorite time to use them is to go to a water park during the day then relax back at the resort then hit magic hours. Perfect day for us! Can't wait for May!

Both

I not wasting vacation money/time to sleep in or go to bed early. I can do that at home for free.

I'm going down for 11 days with a big group during the 4th July. I'm doing a four day solo trip in September. I will use AM PM EMHs for both trips.

We do PM EMH all the way. My kids are 7 and 5 and they love it. We sleep in, eat breakfast, hang at the resort sometimes, go into the parks around 2 or 3, sometimes later, and stay through EMH. We feel like we're the only ones in the park sometimes. We love it.

First, park-hopping is a must for any extra magic hour, AM or PM.

Late night Magic Kingdom EMH are usually fantastic. The park just seems to clear out after the fireworks and/or the 2nd parade (if there is one). Great time to ride attractions that would otherwise have long to moderate waits. About the only ride I know that consistently holds a long line deep into EMH at MK is Space Mountain. We always ride Pooh during EMH because none of us really care for the ride enough to waste a FP or wait in line. Also, if you want to get a Thunder Mountain nighttime ride in, it's best achieved late in an EMH. Ideally, you want to arrive at MK right before the parade and fireworks.

Epcot and Hollywood Studios are impacted more by evening magic hours. Epcot draws the crowds without small children, allowing the group to stay out later. As a result, it really clogs up the walkways through the countries. Hollywood Studios just does not have enough attractions open to spread the crowd.

Morning Magic Hours at AK are usually very light, but going to AK on a recommended day and having a good plan works well without needing to get up so early.

Bottom line is that, unless you are someone that relishes getting up early and taking advantage of the morning magic hours, the only EMH I would recommend is at MK, and even then that means not fighting the large crowd all day long, by not arriving until the crowd is ready to thin out.

Neither. I prefer low crowds to high crowds and visit the low crowd park/s for the day/night.

We always take advantage of early EMH so we can get on the popular rides before the park gets crowded. In fact by taking advantage of this one hour it helps is tour the parks much faster to the point that we get done with the park by 1-2 pm when the parks really get crowded. So we then head out for a break at our hotel pool before heading back to the parks in the evening where we will always take advantage of the late EMH at MK. We almost never use the late EMH at any of the other parks because we can get through what we want to see and do w/o them.
