All - not sure where to post this.

1st timer coming. Which Emeril's do you recommend for myself, DH, who enjoys a fine meal, DS 11 & DD 9

I really do not understand the differences between the Citywalk Location & the RPR location.

Thanks!

Only by the replies I've read on these boards, the one at RPR sounds better..

We (my DF and I) went to Tschoup Chop last month. The atmosphere was wonderful, quiet and romantic. I personally thought the menu was so-so...I was kind of disappointed in the choices (but then I had my heart set on the Hawaiian Platter they used to offer). Personally, I would think twice before I brought my kids (DS 15 & DS 18), because they don't appreciate finer dining. Only you can know what your children will enjoy.

The food was wonderful though, and the staff was exceptional. We got a complimentry "carrot nest" for our 1 year dating anniversary. It was a really cute tiny fine-shredded nest of carrot with a tiny piece of pork on it. My DF and I laughed about it later, thinking of the commercial with "Elf Food".

RPR is a resort located on Universal Properties. They have a walkway along the river that leads to City Walk...which is what I'd describe as the entertainment side of US/IOA...you know, dining, shopping, etc. Kind of like Downtown Disney, only more convenient to the resorts, and IMO more adult oriented.

We had dinner at Tchoup Chop a few years ago & took our kids, ages 16 & 11 at the time. We had all been fans of Emeril Live on The Food Network. We were all disappointed by the meal. Our boys have had some, although not extensive, exposure to fine dining & do know how to behave, how to figure out which utensil to use, etc. but they were disappointed by the menu choices & had difficulty finding something they thought they would like. We all left the restaurant still hungry - maybe it was smaller than expected portions (only ordered entree & dessert) or maybe we were ravenous from a big day at the parks. On our next visit, I think we may try Emeril's at Citywalk for lunch only - just DH & me.

I hear you D & D's Mom! Presentation just dosen't make up for a hungry stomach. Even I had a hard time choosing something from the menu, and I'm not that picky. Maybe I'm just a Margaritaville kinda gal!

I've eaten at Tchoup Chop probably 6 or 7 times and had only one meal that I was disappointed with. I did have a headache at the time so I'm thinking that could have been the reason.

This last trip in May, I had a very delicious steak! The side items that came with it were very good too!

Tchoup Chop. Seemed to be fresher food and nicer wait staff. Might be better for the kids too--the "water fall" will entrance the whole family.
