It's been a year since I've been here...we were planning a family trip to Orlando for June 2008, but I had to have tailbone removal surgery (broke it as a kid, but it suddenly became hypermobile and was stabbing me in the butt!) and we had to postpone. I'm planning our trip for June 11-18 for this summer, and need to rent an ECV (which I'd done for last summer too).

However, on top of being in the final recovery stages for the coccygectomy (takes a good year), I have a chronic knee problem that's recently flared up. My knee hurts much more when my leg is bent, esp. 90 degrees or more, for more than a half hour or so. So I will need a scooter that has enough "leg room" for me to keep the leg stretched out as much as possible. I'm not that tall (5'6"), but I do have long legs (30" inseam).

So, any recs for an ECV with a comfortable seat (I do have cushions I can use as well) and lots of space to stretch out? Would prefer to spend $25-30 a day if that's possible.

Thanks!

Carole

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I would suggest that you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including where people rent ECVs. Cehck out Post #2 and call some of the recommended vendors there and explain the situation to them and see what they recommend. They are all proferssionals concerning mobility and also know their stock and can give you good advice.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.
