Afternoon! So my OH and I want to do Disney next November. We are thinking of split staying DVC for up to 9 nights and then 3 nights over at Universal.

We are set on AK for the second resort as we think it will provide some nice downtime after the business of the first and before we binge on Potter at US. We love a variety of food, love animals and think we’d enjoy this resort. We are a child free couple. We are undecided between Kidani and Jambo.

For our first, though we were tempted by BC because of proximity to Epcot, we think a monorail resort would be more beneficial. We are mostly torn between Poly and GF. I’ve always loved the idea of GF. For me, it’s Disney. OH is leaning towards Poly. Which is better for Epcot access? I know you can get between both resorts easily, so that’s no big deal. Is GF stuffy? How are the poly villas? I know GF has just been upgraded.

We’d be looking at studio for all.

Thanks for any advice!!

Between Jambo and Kidani, I really liked Jambo more in terms of overall grandeur (the lobby is breath taking) and also food convenience (the Mara is QS and at Jambo) but many say Kidani has a better pool area, but I think that's more for kids, so you may love the atmosphere at the Jambo pool. Really, I don't think you could go wrong with either.

Poly would be my vote for convenience to EPCOT if you want to stay on a Monorail resort because you can walk to T&TC and save the transfer from one monorail to the other. However, BC and BWV are really the most convenient to EPCOT since you can walk from either in 5-10 minutes (or take the boat, which is a lovely ride!).

Thank you! Isn’t it pretty hard to get from BC/BW to MK though? So many decisions!!

You mean November 2019, right? If you mean 2018 the question is academic. No rooms at the inn.

For any of the resorts you mention, being ready to book at exactly 11 months will be key, especially for anytime between November 1-Veteran's Day. Units at the Epcot resorts go quickly.

I know you didn’t list it but we are big fans of Bay Lake Tower. You have about a 5 minute walk to get to the Magic Kingdom. It is nice especially if you are at the park at closing and you see the massive lines to get on the monorails, boats, and buses. You bypass all that and walk to your room. To get to Epcot you hop on the monorail from the contemporary and your first stop is the TTC where you can then hop on the Epcot monorail. It’s a great resort for the different types of transportation available.

If you are big Epcot fans then Boardwalk and Beach Club are great because you are within walking and boating distance to Hollywood studios and Epcot. Plus the night time is great for relaxing around the boardwalk area.

November means Food & Wine, so you probably want to be closer to Epcot.

Thanks! I’ve never been to WDW sonits been hard deciding which parks we’d get the most out of. Initially I thought Epcot because of the food but on reflection, there are loads of resort restaurants we’d want to dine at too. So I’m not entirely convinced we’d benefit from being within walking distance of Epcot.

How do you find the rooms at BLT? We wondered if they’d be underwhelming compared to theming elsewhere.

I’m liking the poly vibe a lot after watching a video on YouTube. But I admit, BLT walking distance is attractive.

We are probably only going to catch the tail end of Food & Wine - mostly because we want to avoid the Halloween rush but see the Christmas decs. We can’t run into December because of OH’s work.

The BLT one bedrooms are nice (but I hate the brown side chair with the back pillow - it is the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat in). The BLT studios are very small.

The GFV are very, very nice. We haven't stayed in a studio, just a one bedroom there and it was extremely nice.

If you are comparing by Studios only then the Polynesian is the way to go. It’s larger plus has the bathtub and the separate shower.

I think the Poly is the clear winner in theming. We do enjoy BLT with the clean theming is well. There are some cool hidden mickeys and modern looking Disney art in the rooms. The biggest thing that sells us is the convenience of where the resort is located. Plus the top of the world lounge was where we unwound at the end of each day. I don’t know if they will let you go up there with rented points. Our last trip in February we were put on the top floor with a lake view. When you exited your you could walk right past the elevators and go into the observation deck / lounge area without needing any key card access and have an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom.
