Was wondering which DVC resorts have already been renovated if any. What do you think of the renovations already done and what timeframe for any future renovations at DVC resorts. Thanks in advance.

BWV was fully renovated in 2009/2010. OKW was fully renovated after that. They do different types of renovations, some are only "soft goods", meaning beds & linens.

Units are pretty much being renovated or refurbished all of the time. Each resort can take months, sometimes a year depending on the extent of the work being done.

BWV just had their pool worked on, SSR has had pool work done the last couple of years and they are currently working on the rooms. OKW had work down a couple of years ago with new exterior paint and new flooring.

SSR is in the middle of room rehabs. This is the projected schedule.

Springs - 07/01/12-09/21/12
Paddock - 09/21/12-03/03/13
Carousel - 03/03/13-05/10/13
Grandstand - 05/10/13-08/03/13

VWL are suppose to be on the schedule in 2014, they have been doing room tests.

Thanks for the info so far. We are new DVC members as of December 2012. Our home resort is BLT but we want to try all the resorts at some point. When the rooms of various resorts are renovated is the original look kept the same or do they go for a different look while keeping with the same theme of said resort.

Some renovations can be fairly extensive. At OKW the paint colors on the walls changed from coral and sea foam to yellow and blue, the carpet changed from deep green to beige, the carpet and tile in the one/two bedroom living rooms and kitchens was removed and replaced with wood simulated vinyl and the original kitchen tile counters were replaced with granite. Most furniture was kept, but repainted/reupholstered to match the new colors. A pull out sleeper chair was added to the living room areas. The theme is much more "beach-y" than the original Victorian Key West style.

It seems as though the villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge may soon be getting a full refurbishment. Recent travelers have been reporting and posting pictures of a test room.

Yeah, I didn't care for the new decor, other than the floor. Did not like the carpet in the corridor over the pinecone carpet.

Funny you said that, I am at BWV 1 BR now, and I thought it looked due for a renovation! I prefer no bedspread on the beds, even Paradise Pier got rid of them in favor of duvet cover and double sheeting the bed. And the pull out couch is not comfortable, I wish they had the pull out chair here, I would just sleep on that. (they had it at OKW and I liked it. No room here I guess)

There appears to BE no DVD player? Unless it is inside the TV or something?

A one bedroom at all resorts should definitely have a DVD Player. DVC Resorts will be replacing bedspreads with duvet covers and double sheeting at Disney's expense (not from dues) sometime in 2014, as announced at the last annual meeting.

Remember that Disney can upgrade/replace furnishings at cash resorts at their whim, they simply charge more for the room. For DVC that cost is normally shouldered by dues. However, since many of the DVC Units just recently went through a rehab, it was hard to justify that double cost to members. Disney is picking up the tab for the duvets.

I thought they were going to triple sheeting and not a duvet in 2014.

I think it is both, triple sheets with a duvet on top. Maybe sheet, sheet, blanket, sheet, then duvet. Or it could be sheet, sheet, duvet, then sheet.
