I am considering staying at a DVC resort for our upcoming trip and was wondering which resort you think has the best bus transportation. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Kari

When is your trip? Some resorts have boat and bus to certain parks. What parks are you going to the most or all the same? Some resorts, you can walk to Epcot.

I was going to be a wise guy and tell you that they all use the same buses as all the WDW resorts.

But, I won't.

OKW buses are strictly for OKW. SSR, the same. I haven't had any problems with the bus transportation at these resorts.

VWL has boat transportation to MK (might also have bus transportation), plus buses to the other parks. We didn't use the buses here; we drove our car or took the boat to MK.

BCV and BWV have boat transportation to Epcot and Disney Studios (plus you can walk from/to these resorts and parks) and buses that they share with the other Epcot resorts to the other parks. Lots of waiting in the past, may be better now. Sometimes during the day they split up the resorts and buses and not all share one bus (Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, BCV, BWV, BWI).

WL Shares it's bus and Boat with Fort Wilderness. We did not have a problem with a seat in the day but at night there were people standing at times. I think it depended if we really stayed late. Once we were the only ones on the bus and the driver got permission to take us right back to the Hotel and skip the next stop. It was like having a huge taxi all to ourselves. He said, "you don't mind , so you?" We thanked him over and over. We were so tired that night.

Over the years, we've tried to stay at all the different DVC resorts--used to be the worst service, to my mind, was to BC and BW.
We've experienced slow buses at all the resorts, though--seems to just depend on which way the wind is blowing and if they are short bus drivers.
SSR service has been pretty good each time we've been there, but if they merge the route w/OKW or another resort, it gets too crowded to get on a bus quickly.

We've had VWL busses stop at GF as well as FW. Not the Poly, though.

I've grown to dread the service at the BoardWalk, which is sad since MGM and Epcot are so close.

BW shares with the Dolphin and Swan. We've been on busses that took an hour to get from BW to the Magic Kingdom. That's from the time we boarded the bus to drop off. We had one experience where we didn't get to the BW until 90 minutes after the Magic Kingdom closed due almost entirely to looooooong streches of time where no bus arrived at the stop. We had one trip where our drive from the BW to Typhoon Lagoon went like this: BW > Swan > Dolphin > Downtown Disney Marketplace > Downtown Disney Pleasure Island > (finally) Typhoon Lagoon.

Our last trip we rented a car and stayed at Saratoga Springs (which has parking about 60 seconds from your room.) Never set foot on a bus. That was the most stress-free transportation experience yet.

Although the OKW and SSR resorts don't go to other resorts....unless they're sharing with each other....they do make stops within the respective resorts.

here is a web site that might help if it is accurate ourlaughingplace.com this site will even help if you are in a park and need transfer time to a restaurant. There is always room for crowds but look at it and see what you think.

We stay in all the WDW resorts on a fairly regular basis and have found all WDW resort bus service to be the same no matter which resort you are staying at. They all have their delays and problems and also all have their periods of superior service including excellent bus drivers. Some resorts have multiple bus stops within the same resort, others have single stops in each resort but the bus services several resorts. It all basically evens out to be the same regardless which resort you are staying at.
The Epcot and MK resorts have transportation options from the resorts including monorail, boat and walking to various parks. All other resorts have bus only transport to the parks.

I like to stay away from BWV buses because it shares with Y/BC, S/D - too many stops for me.

OKW and SSR have many internal stops - so we walk to our room.

GF shares with WL, CR and Poly.

I like OKW and SSR busing the best.

I think bus service is hit or miss at any resort. I have had poor expirence going from DTD to the Contemporary and great service at the All-Stars, and vice versa.

I wouldn't base my stay on bus service as it could be good one day and worse the next.

Besides, wait length always seem longer than they actually are.

My take as well. We had disappointing service at the BWV two trips ago - always stood, slow buses, never there when we wanted them to be and by the time the bus arrived, we were cramming guests on. Shared with both the YC/BC & S/D. Based on that experience, buses were horrible and I'd recommend bringing cab fare or a rental car.

Two years later we went again, planning on grabbing cabs if buses had the same quality. This time the bus was always there minutes after we got to the stop. We always had a seat. And we only shared with the S/D, which meant we moved quickly. Based on that experience, BWV buses were some of the best I've had at Disney.
