Hello, new DVC owners, just planned our first trip for next month. Just curious, if you planned on being in WDW for the 5oth Anniversary next October, which DVC resort would you book and why? Thanks.

The one you can get hahaha

Would stick likely with BWV (great location to walk to Epcot), RIV (really nice resort with great rooms with easy access to Epcot for food), or BLT (next to MK)

Ha! Very True! Yes those sound like great options to me as well!

I agree , you will need your home resort booking early.

We’re skipping October. I hope it’s going to be a longer celebration.

Do you think that will be the case for November as well or are you just referring to the actual anniversary of October 1?
If Fall Frenzy is closer to normal, I certainly don't like November either in an extended celebration model.

Let's count the ways:
  • Jersey Week
  • Christmas party + decor with special MK anniversary stuff up, wooooo
  • Wine & Dine Half
  • end of Food & Wine
  • beginning of Candlelight Pro after a year of it not being offered
  • all the banked points from this year
Perhaps, and it's a big perhaps, 1BRs may be more available. Maybe. But, there are all those banked points and people may feel a bit "big spender!" if things are normal enough that they can jump in feet first.

I'd still not count on a wide open selection in November of 1BRs, studios will be dire.

I think the anniversary celebration will last more than one month especially based on the 25th celebration. I won't be there until Jan 2022 so I hope I'm right. That being said I would book at BWV because it's my home resort for Jan 2022 and has easy access to two parks. If doing a split stay I would pick BLT for my split because IMHO I think it's a good choice to visit the MK area. These would be my two picks.

Yep, book your home resort in Nov for Oct 2021.

Grand Floridian is my home resort and it is so nice for a stay and/or celebration. The walkway to the Magic Kingdom should be done soon. It is wonderful to sit out in the evening to see fireworks at MK. The boat parade is also wonderful. Brings back great memories. You can easily walk to the Poly and through the Poly to the Transportation Center if you wish. When the GF bridge is done you can walk to the Contemporary too. If you are not walkers you are on the monorail when staying at the GF. You also have boat transportation. There are so many lovely nooks and krannies to find a bench and sit for some r and r too. In my opinion a beautiful quiet resort fit for a 50th celebration. Oh and don't forget the spa and fabulous dining. Maybe a dinner and Victoria and Albert's. Have a wonderful celebration. CONGRATULATIONS! 50 years is something to celebrate. :)

I think they meant the WDW 50th anniversary, not their 50th wedding anniversary.

Aulani if that's, not an option the BLT walk to MK, theme park views, and the Top of the World viewing platform, or believe it or not OKW

Your quote works for both. Next year 2021 will be our 40th wedding anniversary and we will also be there for the WDW 50th anniversary. We own at VGF and couldn’t agree more!!
