My husband has agreed to go the week before Christmas 2004. YEA!:Pinkbounc

I have heard the DVC resorts do special holiday activities such as gingerbread houses, etc. For those of you who have stayed at a DVC resort during the holidays could you please tell me what kinds of activities are offered and at which resort. Our DD will be 7 (almost 8 at the time of our trip).

Our home resorts are OKW and SSR. I know we do not know how SSR will be decorated next year, so any OKW owners out there please share how OKW is decorated.

I want to make ressies at 11 months and I can always try to switch at 7 months, but I want to make sure we have something planned for a specific time frame.

If we stay at OKW and there is another activity at another DVC resort that we would like to do can we participate in another resorts activity?

The trip will just be our family of three. I am trying to decide between a studio and a 1 bedroom. Will it be hard to get PS during the holidays? We haven't attended ANY character meals at WDW which would be the best during the holiday season to try to get PS for?

Any hints or past experiences that you would like to share would be appreciated.

I have stayed at BWV during the holiday season for the past 3 years. The Epcot resorts are very nicely decorated for the season. There is holiday music playing on the boardwalk, a tree in the courtyard, carolers that perform in the courtyard, bell ringers that perform in courtyard, several large decorated trees in the lobby, a gingerbread house/boardwalk replica w/carousel, garland decorated lobby, hallways, balconies etc. The whole area is beautiful.
I really like the decorations at the Epcot resorts BUT I love them at VWL. As nice as the Epcot resorts are there is something soooooooo much more Christmasy about WL/VWL. I have yet to stay there during the holiday season so I can not comment on any special holiday events they have but from just visiting the resort during the holidays with the lobby & huge tree, fireplaces, etc it is so Christmas!!

We were down at BCV Dec 1-9, and they had signs posted regarding cookie decorating for DVC guests. I don't know if it was limited to people staying at BCV or open to anyone, but I do believe it was limited to certain days during the week.

If anyone else remembers please correct any inaccuracies I may have stated.

While all DVC Resorts have their own Christmas decor theme- unique to that resort- I'd agree with DeeP that VWL has the most feel for the Christmas season.

From the huge decorated tree in the lobby of the WL,

To the tree in the cozy lobby of the VWL,

To the comfy leather chairs in the Iron Spike Room,

The decor at VWL is wonderful and certain to put anyone in the right Holiday spirit!

Enjoy!
