I am planning a week long trip this fall and have determined that renting points is the way to go to avoid breaking the bank considering the lack of available discount codes. Proximity to the parks, dining options, and pool quality are my priorities in that order. I'm currently leaning towards BWV as I stayed at WL once before and could go for something new. The only other property that I stayed at (in the last 25 years) is AKL. Any comments are appreciated.

We chose the BWV for our September trip. It was between the BCV and BWV. Even though the pool is better at the BCV, the view and closeness to the BW won out.

We have a guaranteed BW view. If all goes well, hopefully we can try the BCV next time.

I would definately go for BWV. That's what I chose for proximity to Epcot and MGM, not to mention evening at MK after Epcot via monorail. Also, dining options are plentiful. EPSN Club, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Yacht Club Galley, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Beaches and Cream, Cape May, anyplace at the Swan and Dolphin, then Epcot and MGM eateries. Awesome pool! (Although my second choice was BCV for that pool, but we'll only be there 3 days, so won't swim much)

I have stayed at both BWV and SSR. I like them both, I really like the proximity of BWV to Epcot and MGM, but when you catch the bus, you share with the Swan/Dolphin, and the Beach Club (I think). SSR although it seems like a large resort, the walk to the bus stop isn't bad, two buildings away at the most, nothing like the walk from the back of all star music to the bus stop! I really liked artist pallet at SSR, the food was more affordable than eating at a restaraunt. Downtown disney is also close, although I recommend a bus for that, it's quite a walk (I didn't think it was THAT bad, but my mom was tired) around the lake after a long day in the parks. High rock spring pool is nice at SSR, but it can be a bit far of a walk, the two quiet pools are just as nice though. If you want to do SSR and be close to the main area, request The Springs as an area, it's right across from High rock. Wherever you go have a great vacation!

You will not be disappointed if you choose BWV or BCV. Both are really nice resorts and within walking distance to EPCOT and even MGM. Both have nice pools (although BCV has the BEST pool of the two). Both have ample eating options being so close to BWV and EPCOT World Showcase restaurants.

You will not be disapointed with any of the DVC resorts.

Thanks for all the info, guys. :thumbsup2

I hadn't really considered SSR because of the location. I remember driving past SSR on the excruciating bus ride to Downtown Disney and thinking that it was quite a ways from the action. I understand what you're saying though 'cuz we stayed at AKL which is in the boonies. It didn't seem too bad though as the buses were all non-stops.

I am currently giving BWV the edge over BCV because it seems that BW has a ton of dining options. We were quite tired of the "fast food" at WL or AKL after a week. I found Boma to be a disappointment (I know I'm in the minority) also.

I don't plan on pulling the trigger for a couple weeks so I'm still open for any other thoughts.

Our first trip we stayed at OKW and although it is further away from things, we got spoiled by the size of the villa. Our next trip we stayed at BCV and thought the villas were too small. They also did not get us the kind of room that they promised and we all ended up with a 24 flu. I know that it is not their fault, but I think it left a sour taste in my mouth. We also found that waiting for the buses at OKW did not seem nearly as long as at BCV, and if you want to go to MGM from BCV you still have to wait for the boat. We did'nt really enjoy the boat rides last Oct. because they did not have air-conditioning. I don't know if that is normal or not. If you enjoy quiet and want to save a little more money then go with OKW. If you will be spending the majority of your time at Epcot then go with BCV or BWV. Have fun.

After our first trip home (and several times during  ) my family told me they missed the Poly and wished we were staying there. The Boardwalk area is great, and if we spent an evening renting surry bikes, etc I'm sure I would have won them over. We will be renting out our points to stay at the Poly next trip- my DS9 is a huge Stitch fan and likes thinking he is in Hawaii and closer to his hero. Being thisclose to Epcot and MGM will probably be a bigger draw for them when they are a little older. It is so easy to walk to the BW for dining, etc that I wouldn't rule out BCV for your choice.
