I have found 3 DVC planner programs. Are ther more? Which ones ar you guys using and which one is best?

Sylvain:confused:

Three? I only knew about two, and they complement each other. Caskbill's program is really slick but has no point tracking (though he has promised to have that added by this summer with the next version)...Dave Frederick's program is great for point tracking but does not allow planning the way Caskbill's does. If Caskbill's point tracking works I would say it would be hard to find a better program than his--it is really cool!...meanwhile, I use both.

I've used Caskbill's no problems. I also have used Frederick's, but I'm having a problem when trying to print. It needs to be landscape instead of portrait, but I can't seem to change it on my printing options, so some info is cut off. Both are very nice, though and I'm thankful for their work.

Wondering if either mentions deadline dates for when to cancel your ressies without penalty?
Or a place to type notes, such as date you made ressie and/or any requests you made?

I've fooled around with them just a little.

:)

I use both also......but when Cakbills new version(2.0) comes out this summer it will have point tracking capability. Both programs are excellent and save a lot of time.

If I could figure out how to set up a simple spreadsheet for point tracking, I could then synch it with my palm and be able to poke around and plan a vacation during a meeting, travel, etc.

Oh, and another vote for Cakbills program, nice to plan with.

Well I have downloaded both to play with.

I can't seem to get eother working!

Both are too big for my screen and leave the right side and bottoms off. I've tried changing resolution but then evrything else in my computer is wrong.

I can't seem to find a place to change the "view" in these programs.

Help!

The amount of time that these people have dedicated to providing us with a product, I couldn't really say anything bad. I found caskbill's too comprehensive for my needs. I have only one contract and just need to book one to two trips a year and found the other easier to work with. I will admit that I haven't really given caskbill a good sit down with the instructions.

I thank both of them.

I use and love both programs. I use Caskbills to "dream" of the vacations I want to take. It really helps me to figure the best ways to make the most of my points. I use Dave Fredericks to actually keep track of the points for both my home resorts. I love them both for different reasons and cannot imagine trying to keep track of this stuff without them.

If we are ever at the Parks at the same time, I would love to meet them and buy them both the beverage of their choice.

Both programs are fun to play with. Thanks to both of you for providing a program to track our vacations. If gives as something to remind us of the fun we have at WDW.

Thanks Guys
chris

Could someone provide me with a link to Dave Fredericks planner?

Caskbill, you do excellent work - as posted above, I have been using it for a lot of what if scenarios when trying to decide how many points I should buy and what resort etc.

Thanks!!!

Having used all three of those programs, I really like them all. I helped Bill with testing his program and look forward to the point tracking being added to it.

I like Dave Fredrick's program as well.

But the one I use the most is the KidDVC one. It has pretty good planning and tracking features. It does not have all the bells and whistles the others do on thier pluses, but it is a good trade-off of both features (Planning and tracking) I really like the little running "Available points" window.
