I have a reservation on 11A inside stateroom 8589, which is midship on deck 8 but for only $80 more I can get a cat9A. Thats 35 more square feet, a porthole and a split bath BUT it is in the very front of the boat! What are your thoughts? So many say front of the boat is not good but does it really matter in a boat of this magnitude thats only going to Bahamas? Thanks for your time!

I would ask your question on the DIS Cruise Boards!

For what it's worth, I think an inside stateroom is better than one with a porthole. It's nice to be able to sleep in pitch blackness at any time of day. If you're claustrophobic and need to see air, then maybe a porthole (and more square footage) is worth it for you. But even Disney's inside staterooms have plenty of adequate living space, and a porthole is kinda depressing compared to a private balcony.

I have D cruised several times, and I find that the front upper decks are much better than others. We get the porthole window because it is nice to be able to look out and see what the weather is like. We have also enjoyed the Starboard side more. Great view of Castaway Cay when docked.

We stayed on the Magic for a week and we were in the middle of the boat but closer to the water. You couldn't even tell you were on a boat. We did go up to the front for an activity and you could feel the boat hitting the water. It had the motion with it and made both DH and BIL sick. They had to lay down afterwards. That is my fear of staying near the front. Also near the back, you can hear the motor.

Thanks! That is my fear also! I know that our location (8th deck in the center) is pefect BUT its an inside stateroom, they have the virtual porthole but I really wanted the sit inside porthole but not at the expense of getting sick! Only rooms available with portholes are on 2nd deck, which I do not want or on 5th or 6th deck in very front or very back! Thanks for your help!

I agree which is why I really like being on deck 8 but the rooms with portholes are all on deck 5 & 6 and at the front and back of ship! I was excited about getting a room in 9A because it is in very front and thought how nice it would be to see Castaway Cay in morning until many ppl mentioned the possibility of getting seasick was higher. Ive cruised before with no problem but I worry about my son??

We always get a porthole near the aft elevators and find it's not noisy at all. Well, maybe a little bit of the thrusters but no worse than what you hear from all over the ship, a little hum and vibration. We love the split bath, esp with our family of 4. It would take way too long for all of us to get ready without it.
We have tried inside and balconies and find this is a good compromise. We get natural light at a reasonable price.

I have had rooms by both the midship and aft elevators on the Wonder. It was not noisy at all. I cannot speak for the Dream as it is bigger and there might be more foot traffic. I upgraded from the regular verandah room to the deluxe family verandah just for the little extra space.
