Which direction do the parades go?

It's been several years since we've watched either the day or night parades at MK.

If I remember correctly, the daytime parade runs from Frontierland to Main Street.

However, how does the nighttime parade work? What if there's only one performance and what happens if there's two? Do they both go from Frontierland to Main Street?

For some reason, I have a memory of watching a parade going towards Splash Mountain at some point, meaning it must've started on Main Street...but that was years ago (if it ever happened at all...I my be imagining things).

The last time we saw the parades, the afternoon went from Frontierland to Main Street and the nighttime one went from Main Street to Frontierland. I am not sure what they do with two parades though.

Spectromagic Parade: Main Street to Frontierland, Always (even if 2).

AK: Starts in Africa, heads straight out, loops around the park Counter-Clockwise, and ends back in Africa.

Epcot: Never starts, never loops, never goes front-to-back or back-to-front.

So how do they get the floats back to the starting point for the 2nd parade of Spectro?

If it was after hours they could drive them back, but they would have to do this while still open.

In MK (but not at Disneyland in CA), the "backstage" road from Frontierland "loops" back to behind Main Street.

the parades move forwards. I've seen all the parades, many times, and have never seen a parade float moving in reverse
