Which dinner show?

My family decided that we are going to skip MVMCP this year. That being said, we have that amount budgeted so we would like to add a dinner show. We have never done a show at WDW. My initial thought is the Spirit of Aloha dinner but since we have never been to any if them, I am open to suggestions.

Hoop Dee Doo is hands down one of our favorite experiences on Disney property!! The food is DELICIOUS (fried chicken and all the fixins), sangria is super awesome, and the all you can drink doesn't hurt, and we really do enjoy the show, it's got a bit of kitchy humour but we still find it hilarious and really enjoy the whole experience. Plus it gets you over to Fort Wilderness which you might not experience otherwise!

Spirit of Aloha is good, the food was super tasty when we were there a few years back, but the first 2 parts of the show were a bit lackluster for us!a

Another vote for Hoop Dee Doo, one of our favorites. We love the entertainment, it's funny, and how do you go wrong with all you can eat cornbread....

Vote three for Hoop Dee Doo! Liok at food menu since it is a set menu to make sure your group will be happy. Show it kitchy and fun.

Have been twice to Luau but last time was over ten years ago. Show was nice but food was sub sub par last time we went.

and how do you go wrong with all you can eat cornbread....

It depends - I've eaten cormbread that tastes nothing like cornbread is just bland. Then there's cornbread like at Boston Market and I can eat like 6 of them. LOL.

Yes to the Hoop De Doo! We liked the food at the luau more than HDD but HDD provided a much better overall experience for all ages.

Hoop De Doo all the way. Super fun, super campy, food is great (best BBQ I have had at WDW).

I am not a fan of the Luau at all. One of the few things on property that I advise against 100%. The show is, in the opinion of my family, a complete snoozer outside of a few moments. The food is not great, which is even a bigger bummer considering Ohana and and Kona are just feet away.

We love HDDR. WE have gone as a young, core family, a trip with young grandkis and several all adult guests. Food is excellent" Down Home Cooking " and a great show.

Hoop Dee Doo! We go every single trip to Disney. It is such a good time good food good fun!!

HDD, a Disney Must Do!
Arrive a bit early to peek around Fort wilderness area..pop in store, grab a rocker on the porch and Enjoy the food and Show!

I guess I will be the odd man out. We didnt like HDDR. I guess we just didnt like the corny humor. I actually put my earbuds in and watched TV on my phone after about the first 20 minutes while I ate and was much more entertained.

I'll lead off by saying, we've been to both shows and HDDR it is easily (even though it is much harder on you transportation wise.

Agree with HDDR!

I remember going as a small child (I'm in my mid-30's now) when we did a big family trip. A few years ago I was going to Disney with my mom (who hadn't been back since that childhood trip) and extended family --- she requested HDDR. I rolled my eyes and thought it would be too campy for a party of all adults. I was WRONG - it was awesome: the food was great, the alcohol was free-flowing, the service was fantastic, and the show was even more campy than I anticipated, but was somehow still incredibly entertaining (though possibly that was colored by the free-flowing alcohol).

Yes, Hoop Dee Doo for sure! The show is funny, the food is good, and the sangria is amazing. It was just way better overall than the luau!
