I know this has been asked many times before but here goes:

My DD age 25 and myself age 52 have rec'd a 40% off code...we are going to Disney from Oct 17-22/08. We are at the Pop Century for 2 nights because discount doesn't start 'til the 19th.

Because of discount and possibly last WDW visit for awhile we thought we would take advantage of discount and stay at a deluxe. Problem is I can't decide!!!

For those who can help please advise your thoughts on which deluxe for 2 adults. We are going on to Universal after WDW visit and staying at the Portofino Hotel which is a very beautiful deluxe Italian themed deluxe hotel....

sooo...any thoughts??

Thanks so much.....

that is doing the food/wine festavial at Epcot - so BC, YC, BCV or BW.

so you can easily walk back to the room....:woohoo: :drinking1

I would have to ask what parks do you think you will be visiting the most? If the MK and Epcot are high on your list, then I would chose a MK resort. What is your budget?? You can stay at one of the monorail resorts and have easy access to the MK and Epcot, or you can stay at the WL for less money but still a great location.
If Epcot and MGM will be the parks you plan on visiting, then choose an Epcot resort. I've stayed at the YC and I loved it.
Do you want to be removed from it all, then I'd suggest the AKL.
There are so many choices, but hard to give advice if we do not know your tastes.

Thanks everyone! Budget is not a problem since we are getting 40% off we are going to splurge......

I appreciate all the info and responses. We will be spending a fair amount of time at Epcot (food and Wine;) )and MGM so the Epcot hotels make the most sense. The kid in me wants to stay at a monorail resort but we will be spending the least amont of time at MK......

I really like the look of the YC, BC and Boardwalk so I think I have it at least narrowed down to them...we are not really the outdoorsy type so I eliminated AKL and WL....even tho they are considerably cheaper.

Thanks all!

If I had the code, I would stay at the Grand Floridian. We spend most of our time at Epcot but the monorail is so convenient. The resort, IMO, is the best and we have stayed at or visited most of the resorts.

The Boardwalk and Beach Club are both great. You can't go wrong with either one. The Boardwalk would be my first choice. However, the only dining options for that resort are actually on the boardwalk, versus having dining options in the resort itself, as the beach club does. They both have awesome pools and are just really nice, fun resorts.

I'd call to see if your dates are available when you want to go with the 40%. By all means do this ASAP.

We've stayed at the BC and really loved the pool and quick walk into the countries, but then I am also a fan of GF and the Poly.

Thanks everyone!

Well I just talked to my DD and she thinks the savannah rooms at AKL sounds really cool....so I am going to try first thing in the morning and for a few days as there are none available. Second choice will be Boardwalk or BC....

this is sooo hard to choose!! But what a wonderful chore!

Is your mom going with you? If not, I'm curious on whether or not you will be allowed to use her discount for yourself and your daughter. I believe the room will have to made in your mother's name, and if she's not with you to check-in, you may have a problem.

Anytime I use a discount that came in my name, I had to be there to show identification.

:rotfl: Hi there, I edited my original post as I can see how unclear it was! I am the Mom ;) It is just me and my DD going and she received the discount....the way I wrote it "My DD and myself, Mom age 52" was confusing! I am so used to calling myself Mom!

Boy the rooms allocated for the codes are going fast! I called right at 7:00AM and there are still no AKL savannah rooms available. I did book our second choice, the BW. The csr said to keep calling back 'cause a room shoild hopefully become available at AKL.

Take care all....and thanks for all your input.

Okay! Makes sense now. Have fun!

BTW, my daughter (22) and I are going next week for her college spring break. We do this every year, she usually brings a friend. It's been really great doing this with her. :cloud9:

Hope you have a great time! let me know if you did any neat adult daughter things together. I have 16 yr old triplet daughters..I know:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We went to WDW for their Gr 8 grad gift and had a great time . However as my husband never goes ANYWHERE, I am looking forward to going with oldest DD and doing some "adult" Disney stuff. Jess hasn't been to Disney since she was 8! We are also doing Universal and then a cruise...I am SO looking forward to it:banana:

Well I have stayed many, many times at GF and am trying the Poly for the first time with my parents and little brother on Friday! We absolutely LOVE the GF, so it was hard to book something new. I would HIGHLY recommend staying there (GF) if you wanted to be in the MK area.

Also, my whole family, aunts/uncles/cousins/brother in law/nephew/etc, did a Grand Gathering and decided to do the YC. They all LOVED IT! In fact, I just talked to my aunt the other day who said if she went back she would stay at YC! It was so easy to just walk around the Boardwalk and find something to do, and I spent a lot of time at their quiet pool because it was often empty and hardly any kids since they were all (including my brother, cousins, and nephew) at SAB!!!

It's a really easy walk to Epcot or there is also a boat. I think there is also a boat to MGM so both of those are very close. I really prefer being in the MK area because I think it is more magical (I'm 20!) but the Epcot area has more to do, IMO.

Go for YC or GF!! And HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Thanks everyone!

Well my DD and I have made our plans. She really wanted the AKL and I couldn't get it for our dates with the 40% discount.

So, I have booked us into the AKL savannah view for 2 nights with AAA discount and the Boardwalk Inn waterview for the next 3 with the 40% off!

The 40% backfired this time on me:scared1: Why? Because I started out at Pop Century 2 nights and POR for 3. Now I am deluxe hotels for all 5 nights! Sheesh, I am spending way more but I am so excited. It is an opportunity to stay deluxe that I would never be able to afford normally.

Plus, will not be visiting WDW for awhile now as need to save more for 3 girls at University. So I figure lets enjoy!

For the posters who recommended the GF, I read reviews from people who said the Portofino Hotel, Universal, where we go next, is comparable to or better than the GF. We decided on BW because we will have enjoyed the tranquility at AK and will be ready for some excitement. Since we don't have kids with us I thought the BW would be fun and a great location as DS and Epcot are our favs.
