Which deluxe Villa?

My husband and I are staying in a deluxe studio in August. We're currently booked at the Boardwalk, which I chose mostly because of location. We plan on spending time at HS and MK for sure, we might go to AK but pretty sure we're not going to spend any time at Epcot. It's a quick weekend trip with just two park days.

There's availability at all the resorts but the Grand Floridian. We have stayed at the Poly already and want to try something new. Do you think an Epcot resort is the best choice or would you choose another? I'm really torn. I had originally booked Bay Lake Tower but switched to Boardwalk because it seems like there's more to do over there after hours. What would you do?

Personally I would always choose to stay in the Epcot area. Epcot is our favorite park and for us having the benefit of being able to walk right into the park overshadows anything we could get at another resort area.

EDIT: just realized you said you wouldn't be spending any time in Epcot. So my personal preference doesn't help much haha!

SSR

It's near Disney Springs (boat or walk). Much more to do at DS than the BWV. Since you're not doing Epcot, BWV loses its appeal. The long hallways and the cramped studio set up (the removed a lot of storage space to accommodate the murphy bed) is less pleasant than the SSR studios, which have not been altered to that crazy set up.

I have always wanted to stay at an Epcot resort, so I hear you! I mean, we could just head over there for drinks!

I would stick with BWV. The theming is lovely and it's fun to just stroll on the Boardwalk in the evenings. Plus there are a ton of restaurants within walking distance and you'll be quite close to the path to DHS.

I've only stayed in One-Bedroom Villas, but my favorite so far is Bay Lake Tower. I have heard though that they have the smallest studio so that's probably not a great option. I've stayed at the Boardwalk and loved it. Thought the location is great, it's closer to Hollywood Studios so a nice quick walk over there. The Boardwalk entertainment is fun. I'd stick with that location, I think you'll enjoy it.

I love the Epcot resorts and think you should stick with what you have. There are so many great restaurants and bars around between the boardwalk, Yacht and Beach, and the excellent restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin, it is a great area.

The only real problem we have staying at the BW is parking. We always drive and self parking there can be a nightmare with all the people avoiding paying for parking at the Epcot parking lot by parking there.

We're not driving, so that shouldn't be an issue. But man, what a pain that sounds like!

Yep, the parking lot just empties out, just like at the Contemporary and BLT, right after the theme park closes for the night.

Exactly right. This problem will never get fixed because BWI management never does, and will never do anything to remedy it. Try walking on the Boardwalk after 9 pm towards Epcot. There is a good chance you will get trampled by the crowds leaving Epcot and going to their cars in the BW parking lot.
That's why the new parking fee is ridiculous. Instead of charging registered guests to pay for parking, they should charge visitors. This would stop the "illegal" Epcot parkers. Also, try getting a parking spot at the BW when there
is a special Star Wars event at Hollywood Studios. Impossible.
I just wonder how many registered guests who come back to the BW and can't find a parking spot will speak to Management and demand either free valet parking, or having the daily parking fee waived. Guaranteed
this is going to happen.

How about a studio at Copper Creek? I haven’t stayed there personally, but I think the rooms look gorgeous and you can catch the ferry to MK. We stayed at both BCV and BLT, and I did not care for BLT, but my family loved it. I will say the Epcot resort area is lovely. It is so nice to just walk into Epcot for a bite to eat or for a drink. I know you said you aren’t visiting Epcot this trip, but if you do stay with BWV, maybe you could make time for it. If not, it is nice to stroll around the Epcot resorts, especially at night; you might catch some nighttime entertainment. There are also a lot of great eating options in that area.

Our favorite is OKW. The rooms are larger than everything but GF. It is only a 20 minute boat ride to Disney Springs. It is so calm and peaceful. Great place to deompose after a day at the parks.
