Now that it's a year out, it's time to face the dreaded room block. We know our value and moderate choices, but at stuck for the deluxe. Any recommendations or advice??

We chose the CR because that is where our reception ends. That way if our guests stay there they can stumble back to their room. :lmao:

Where are you getting married? That may help determine which deluxe resort or resorts would be most convenient for your guests (and potentially yourselves).

We're getting married in Epcot and doing a DP there. I know there are the ones around crescent lake, but none of them really appeal to us, but there are certainly others that will be less out of the way.

If the Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club aren't of any interest to you, you might consider some of the monorail deluxe resorts. Guests could take the monorail between Epcot and the Magic Kingdom monorail resorts pretty conveniently. Those resorts would also make the Magic Kingdom and Epcot very convenient for your guests to visit.

I agree with NitroStich that would be your best bet so they can use the monorail to their advantage of getting to and from your wedding.

My family and I have been staying at Old Key West since we joined the vacation club. When we go to Disney for our wedding, my fiance and I are looking to stay somewhere else, just to get some variety. But Old Key West is really great and has always been my favorite. The way it is set up, it seems almost like apartments rather than a hotel. The rooms are comfy, the atmosphere is great. While I love children, it seems as though Old Key West is more quite than other hotels as well.

we stayed at the poly they gave us concierge building, club level, with castle view...it was AMAZING! We stayed there the night after our wedding night. Which was convenient, my father was incredibly hung over due to all of us meeting at jelly rollz the night of our wedding. I was able to take him by monorail from MK to sleep it off. Step mom was a bit upset but we were find with it :) Dad was a little creeped out by sleeping on the beds forgetting that we had JUST checked in...lol :rotfl:

We loved Wilderness Lodge and got a free upgrade to concierge level with a MK view. The resort was beautiful but I wouldnt class the rooms as "deluxe" - nice but not luxury. Were hoping to rent a 1 bed dvc to get more space at WL.

I know the Epcot resorts are convenient, but how convenient are they? Does it save in trasportation? Can you walk there? I know it would be very convenient for the DP, but don't you have to pay for transportation anyway???

If you're talking about Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach, those resorts are all within easy walking distance of Epcot. Some Boardwalk Villas rooms and the Yacht Club rooms would be further away, but they are still far more convenient than waiting at least 20 minutes for a bus. They also have a boat service that runs between Epcot-Boardwalk-Yacht & Beach-Swan & Dolphin-Hollywood Studios. With those resorts, you can walk to two resorts, which can be extremely beneficial if transportation is getting overloaded or you want to have more control over your transportation time.

An additional benefit to staying in those resorts and either walking or taking the boat is that you enter Epcot through the International Gateway, which gets much smaller lines at the turnstiles and bag check than the front gate.

I'm not sure what transportation you might be paying for through DFTW, since I'm a SoG bride, so I'll have to leave that answer to other, more knowledgeable gals.

The Beach Club is only 5 minutes' walk from Epcot.

It would definitely save on transportation *if* all your guests can meet at the International Gateway for your DP. You only have to pay for transportation for yourself, and that's only if you want to wear your wedding attire. Otherwise you and the guests can meet an event guide at the International Gateway to be lead to your DP (well, if it's in the UK, France or maaaaybe Morocco - they won't let you walk as far as, say, Italy).

However, if not all your guests are staying at an Epcot area resort and they don't have cars, they will have to take a bus to Downtown Disney or a theme park and then change to a Beach Club bus and walk from there to International Gateway. In that case, I would say that it'd be nice to provide them with transportation.

If you don't go with the Epcot resorts..my favorite is Wilderness Lodge..to me, it doesn't feel like Florida. I also like that I can walk from one end to the other without going outside...very important if it is a rainy Florida day!

Since its only a 5 min walk from Epcot as a pp mentioned I would say to go for one of the Epcot resorts...
