Sorry couldn't resist - It's not a fish, it's a mammal (- just based on a Greek rendering of the dolphin.) Great hotels - little out of place when you consider the WDW theming in the area - I wasn't sure of them at first but they really have grown on me over the years - I love the bridges and the colours. Oh well - my vote for favourite Deluxe - I'LL TAKE ONE OF EACH - AKL, BEACH/YACHT, BOARDWALK, GF AND THE OLE' CONCRETE 'A' FRAME.

The point was that it looks like a fish not a dolphin. I think there are too many people out there taking my comment too personal, relax, everyone has different tastes!!!
I suggest the Dolphin.....I think the important thing about the Dolphin is getting a good room. I suggest a balcony room - and after the renovations are complete, I don't think you can do better than the Dolphin. The AKL is awesome, but I'm okay going to a ZOO and saving myself all that extra money...and just visiting the AKL. The Grand Floridian is too damn stuffy for me. I don't find it relaxing to feel that proper on vacation. I have enough of that with my husband's partners at the firm at HOME.
Wilderness Lodge is pleasant - but I just don't think it's the best choice - and I don't really like the indian stuff...not that there's anything wrong with that - just not my thing....Yacht and Beach are great - but their pool is just so crowded and overrun - and wet everywhere - I like the Dolphin because there are so many businessmen there and they don't care which room they are in - don't use the pools so much - and don't bring kids along....of course there are some kids - but "just enough" - and I liked it there even prior to the renovations being done....
We stayed in balcony room 8029. It has 2 beds and a fabulous view of Epcot ball and the Illuminations at night...The rates at Dolphin are great...check it out..
