Which deal is best

ok so we are going the week of 4th of July to Disney. We have 3 quotes from Disney.

1. using the free QS dining
2. using the free gift card
3. using the 40% off at Deluxe resort

1 ans 2 are the same price at the Wilderness Lodge, $2,700 then you have to factor in the pros and cons of the QS dining plan vs just using the GC for your meals and gifts etc

the 40% brings it down to about 2,100 which is $600 cheaper.

We will be driving down there so we won't be trapped at eating ONLY at the disney resorts, I tell my wife the 40% is the best deal cause it is the cheapest and we can be frugal with our meals and not have to spend all of that $600

is my logic right or am I missing something?

You have to consider what you are going to eat. Check out the menu's and prices http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm . You may find out that you can't or don't want to be as frugal as you think. We have found in the past that the Dining plan doesn't exactly save and does cost a bit more than I'd be paying without it. however without it my pricing said we would be sharing everything as far stretched as it would go. Minimal snacks. Food brought in from home. Dining plan was costing me an extra $150, it was worth it to me to know I didn't have to stress over being frugal.

% codes are usually better than free dining at deluxes for smaller groups. However, if there is only a 600 difference, and the gift card is $750, you should probably look hard at what you will spend and make sure it will be less than 600. If it is even a bit more, the gift card is probabaly worth it since the gift card does not expire and can be used at any disney park, disney store (online as well), i know there are others I can think of. But that is all a matter of perspective.
