I read the tips elsewhere about signs and dressing up and jumping up and down to get noticed to get picked
In checking the disneyland website I see the times for Jedi academy as
10:30, 11:35, 12:40, 2:25, 3:30, 4:35
I have a 5 day PH which I'll use starting next Monday
Is it best to always go for the first or last showtime in the summer and avoid the other times ?
Are some days better than others ?

We went last summer. We did the Jedi academy on our first full day which was a Saturday. We went for the first show. We got there about 45 mins. early and we were the first in line. We waited for about 30 mins. until they opended the ropes and my kids sat down by the line. Both of my big kids were picked. I had DS in a lego Star Wars shirt and he and DD held hands and jumped up and down. They were picked about halfway though.

When we were there quite a few kids wore Star Wars shirts but none were in costume. I also did not see any signs. I had thought about making a sign after reading about them on here but decided against it.

We tried for the first show because I wanted to get it out of the way. I knew my ds would have been upset if he didn't get picked (dd didn't really care but she did have fun!) and I figured if we did it early in the trip we would have a few more chances.

DS has had good luck with the first show on Wednesdays. He was picked both in October and last week. In October he had a sign and a cast on, which made him stand out. Last week he had Jedi robes on. Both times we got there about 30-45 minutes early and he was the first one there. He did complain about my choice of seating for him this time...he was on the blue line right by the aisle....the stand blocking the aisle kept getting pushed in his way as it wasn't set up yet when we sat down.

This is a very good question. What time is least busy, or at least, least popular for the kids who can be selected. It just seems nobody has the knowlege because nobody tried at multiple shows in a day

We have gone at various times on various days, and they are ALL crowded. Best advice is to get there during the show prior to the time you want to attend and get down to the floor right next to the rope right after that show ends. Or if you don't want to spoil it for the child, hang out in the Tomorrowland area and have the adult pay attention to the show to see when it's going to end and go over there.

My son has been chosen every time, and we've never taken a sign or worn a costume or anything. The best advice I have is for your child to jump up and down, wave their arms, and make a spectacle of themselves!

We just got back from DL. We went to the first show of the day and got there 30 minutes early, and there were 5 or 6 kids there already. My DD (5)had a Leia shirt on, and her hair in Leia buns. She got a bit intimidated during the picking process and didn't jump up and down, but still got picked (I think the hair did it). She was in heaven, loved it so much. It was her highlight of the entire weeklong vacation. She was doing the moves they taught her in all the lines for the rest of the trip.
