Which day would you choose to go to MK?

We are trying to plan a long weekend in WDW.
Which do you think would be more crowded for our MK day?

A Saturday, hours posted 9-9
vs.
A Friday with am EMH

On a typical/longer trip we would avoid MK in either scenario but that's the only weekend I can get a 3 day weekend.

WWYD?

I would probably go on that Friday, simply because the weekend brings in a lot of locals.

After one attempt at MK on a Saturday PM in 1999 during an otherwise low crowd trip, it was so busy I swore I would never set foot in MK on a Saturday again.

This was only one experience and my reaction is not based on logic, but I've stuck to my belief, never on Saturday!

Are you staying on property? If so will you be able to make it for AM magic hours? If so it's clearly Friday. If not, I would probably want to know what park you are considering for the other day, but still likely lean friday

Another vote for Friday. I don't recommend going to MK on a Saturday, way to many people.

Friday, and if you're on property, hit up that AM EMH

We'll be onsite but our flight arrives at 11:30 pm Thurs night. That's pretty late. We'll probably get a private transfer instead of ME just so we're not sitting on a bus at midnight then stopping at 3 other resorts too. (The buses are slow to fill that late too.)
We're flying on SW points (free flights) and the next earlier non-stop departs at 3:15 pm. I can't get Thurs off work but I have requested to leave early.
Teenagers are not so into waking up early but we'll see how it goes. Maybe we'll splurge for hoppers so if MK gets crazy we can hop.
We just started planning so I haven't sat down with the boys together but knowing my son, if we do MK Friday, then it would be Epcot Saturday or maybe HS in the AM and hop to Epcot later.
HS has early EMH on Sunday so if they're motivated to get up early, we could hit all our favs and be done by noon to get to our ME pick up by 1:00.

We have said this before too. Thanks for reminding me. :thumbsup2

We have been there, onsite with no hopper option, and even in Sept it was mobbed everyday. That's when I realized that by following the EMH schedule, those are the more crowded parks each day. So we've been trying to avoid them too.
The good part of going on a Friday with early EMH is that I think early EMH is probably less popular than late EMH, so maybe it won't be so bad.
The bad part is that we really enjoy late EMH. There are no late EMH days while we're there. Oh well....

Oh, I feel ya about a late flight! We did that in July 2015, our flight was supposed to land at 10:30 but was rain delayed. We didn't get to the Wilderness Lodge until well after midnight.

I feel trapped without hopper tickets, so I would encourage that, but not everyone feels the need for them. Depending on how early your family typically wakes up, I think I'd still do Friday as long as you're there in time for the regular park opening. You can still be in Adventureland and Frontierland when it opens, and have low waits for those rides and maybe Haunted Mansion. Then you can use FPs for Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Good luck choosing, and have an awesome trip!!
