which day to use mm?

Hello!

My family will be going to DL in early Nov. We will have one MM to use and I am wondering which day would be the best to use it. It would either be on R (the5th) or Sat (the 7th) ... fyi.. the Sat is the weekend of parade taping. At first I was thinking Sat, which is bound to be more crowded, but now I'm not so sure. Any thoughts?

-- earlier in your trip, easier to get up
-- earlier in your trip, can check rides off your list and can later choose if you want to do them again vs needing to do them
-- potentially less crowded, can get more rides in

I agree, from what I have heard the parade filming could take hours and making certain areas very congested.

I definitely agree! I found that by the third or fourth day of our trip, I was having to really struggle to get our DD's (then 18 months and 4) to get rolling in the morning. By that time, I think I'd rather go in with rope drop and do a few rides and then when the crowds start, have a priority seating time for a nice leisurely brunch or lunch at one of the character restaurants.

I agree with the others because of the parade taping. If the parade wasn't being taped that day, I might suggest Saturday just because in our experience, the earlier the MM time, the less crowded. Meaning, if the park opens at 10 AM and MM is at 9:00, I think it's easier for people to make it to MM at that time, then if the park opens at 9:00 and MM is at 8:00. Again, just my experience....

I personally always choose to use my MM on the weekend if at all possible. They tend to be more crowded in my experience and to get that extra hour in before the masses hit makes it worth it to me, even if it means working on some limited sleep.

Everytime we do MM on the weekdays, it always seems to be crowded. We have also done MM on the weekends, and much prefer it to the weekdays. The busy mornings always seem to to be opposite of what you would think.

I think that you would be fine doing either. Once you get off of Main Street and away from the castle you really aren't going to be encountering a lot of problems from the parade taping. I would think that a lot of the crowds for the parade are going to be locals coming in to watch the parade/performers and you are probably not going to see crowds early in the AM at MM, but that is just pure speculation on my part. That weekend is blocked for SoCal APs but not DAPs or PAPs.

In the end, if you think your family is going to be pooped out by Saturday and not want to get up early for MM, then definitely go sooner in the week than later and try to get done what you can. Then you can just relax on Saturday morning and enjoy the day watching the parade yourself!.

Generally if there are two MM days offered during your trip, but you only have 1 MM to use the best day to use it would be the first possible day. So if you were going to the parks for a very long weekend (Saturday-Tuesday) and you only had 1 MM, you would have to choose to use it on Saturday, Sunday, or Tuesday. My recommendation is to use it on Saturday because by the end of your trip you WILL be more tired and less inclined to wake up early. Also, even though crowds on Saturdays and Sundays will be greater, it is better to choose these days (if possible) than weekdays during offseasons. This is true because the parks open sometimes 2 hours earlier on the weekends than on the weekdays and less people will want to get up for MM at 7AM on a Saturday than 9AM on a Tuesday.

I decided to do it Sunday with the crowds and the Ap's unblocked my chances are better to do both MM and toon town both on the same day. Both on a Sunday ( if toon town has morning magic this day) then we have reservations to goofys kitchen. so after all the park running early we can sit down and recoup at goofys :lol: then head into DCA to play.

Sorry, Toontown Morning Madness is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. The only day that is common between MM and TTMM is Saturday.
