We are Arriving 8/22 and checking out on 8/31.That's 9 wonderful days for WDW and having a great time! Long story short because the package we got is a special deal from a special Disney agent, the most we are able to get is an 8 day P/H and no additional days can be added on. We would have to purchase any additional passes at "Rack rate" is what I was told.
I found out about this out after I purchased airline tickets, so at this point we need to hang one day, and will probably just swim and relax.

With that being said, we're not sure which is the best way to decide what day to miss (or leave as an "open" day).

We really would rather be in the Park everyday, but not going to put out another $94.00 PP.

Any thoughts appreciated!!!

Take a break mid-way through your trip. Your feet will thank you! Especially that time of year when it's hot and humid. And HOT.

We usually plan a slow day 2/3 of the way through. By that point you'll need a rest from the endless walking.

I think that your own state of mind and fatigue factor would play a greater role than the calendar date. I would look at park hours and EMH hours around the middle of the trip. If there is a day in there that the MK is open until 1:00 a.m. and you plan to be there until that time, then I would take the next day off. I can't see any advantage to taking off days 1, 2, 3, 7 or 8. So that would leave 4, 5, 6 or the last day (if your endurance, patience and money have run out). Also, at that time of year, you could get hit with some unconfortable weather. (Steady tropical rain, or abusive heat). So leave some flexibility so that you can take off a day that might be miserable in the parks.

Thanks all!!!

Congrats! :) We generally go for 9 days or more and love being in the parks but even with Annual Passes, we commit to one "day off". We sleep in, eat a late big breakfast, enjoy the resort, swim, and sometimes go to Downtown Disney in the evening. I agree that mid-week is best or if you plan a really late night, use the next day as the off day. You will feel rested and really enjoy the parks when you return :goodvibes

Take one day and go to one of the water parks and then maybe do Hoop Dee Do at Fort Wilderness.
