Which day for MK- at Christmas?

We are going to Disney over the Christmas holidays! I'm trying to decide which day to go to Magic Kingdom. Choices are Sunday, December 22nd, which is a MVMCP day (the last party), or Monday, December 23rd. Obviously I want to go to whichever day will have the lower crowds- if that EVER happens at Disney at Christmas! I've heard that fewer people go to MK on party days... is this actually true? Or should I simply expect mayhem all week and just take it as it goes?

Go on Sunday if you don’t mind missing the Christmas-only entertainment.

On Monday, the Party’s Christmas shows and the Parade go to ‘daily ops’ and will draw guests to MK.

Personally, it would pick Monday the 23rd (assuming that you aren't going to the Christmas party on another night.) I think there's a lot more than crowd levels to consider.

We aren't going to MVMCP at all. What things other than crowd level would you consider? I know going during the day of a party night means we won't see the fireworks, but I'm hoping to catch them from a MK resort or maybe go back into MK some evening (we have hoppers).
