Which Day for Kennedy Space Center?

Does anyone know if certain days are less crowded for KSC? Also, how is traffic from WDW to KSC?

I thought maybe the weekends would have less traffic.

We left Windsor Hills around 7:30 on a Saturday morning to drive to KSC. Traffic was great. After having a quick breakfast and checking into our hotel in Port Canaveral, we arrived at KSC around 9:30. Crowds weren't bad at all--the only downside of this weekend day trip was that there wasn't any activity in any of the buildings on property...no workers around.

The biggest highlight of the day was getting to hear from an actual astronaut (Worden) and have my DSs picture with him. How cool is that?

If you're really into the *Space thing* they have a new tour that we missed out on because we got there too late. It's a more upclose tour than the regular one, it's kind of a VIP thing. My husband would have really enjoyed it, but we left Disney late and the tour fills up really quickly.

when are you going? I know there is upcoming rocket launches and a shuttle launch both in early august.

We are going at the end of August, so we will miss the launches.
