My dh and 3 children are going to wdw in less than 2 weeks. I have dinner reservations at all sit down resturants, I just bought cereal and oatmeal and pop tarts and stuff like that to bring with us for breakfast in the room - but we do have the meal plan, We planned on getting counter service for lunch where are the best places??? My DH is a big eater and will be cranky if he does not eat enough, (kinda like traveling with 10 more kids.....LOL) so where can we go that will give us large portions for lunch at a counter service resturant, we plan to visit magic kingdom, epcot, mgm and animal kingdom when we are there.. Thanks for any responses!!

Definitely take him to Tangerine Cafe in Epcot, if he'll eat that kind of food! Huge plates! The McDonald's place at the American pavillion gives a 10 nuggett value meal with a McFlurry for 1 CS credit. Cosmic Ray's (although we didn't make it there) is touted to have huge plates of half chicken/half rack of ribs. Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney had huge portions if you make it there. We just gave up on Animal Kingdom and came back to Pop for lunch, where the food was good and plentiful! I don't remember anywhere at MGM CS having really large portions, but I'm sure you can keep DH full with extra snacks on the side.

Have a good trip! We though the dining plan rocked!

My DH has a hearty appetite too...he is always happy with Tangerine Cafe, and Earl of Sandwich.

Mrs. Disney Ron

Pinocchio's in MK also has large portions, you can get a pizza, side salad, dessert and drink for one credit, or a Philly steak sandwich, fries, dessert and a drink for one credit.

This was the first thing I thought of. DS and I typically buy one and share it between the two of us. For one CS credit, you sure get a huge bang for the buck with this meal. The BBQ is very good also (more of a wet sweet Memphis style).

I vote for Cosmic Rays Combo really large portion 1 Should fill him up and is a great change from the usual Hamburg & fries!!

You can get the combination platter here (ribs/chicken) for 1 CS credit and it would feed one really hungry adult or could easily be shared. There is a cute little "fella" that entertains the entire time so it is a pleasant place to eat as well and is AC on a really hot day (which was when we went)! :cool1:

Cosmic Rays in MK
Tangerine Cafe in Morocco
Sunshine Seasons in Epcot
POR food court
WPE in DTD

Adding another vote for Tangerine Cafe. It's the only CS where DH is willing to share a meal.

:thumbsup2 A Shawarma Platter at The Tangierine Cafe (Morocco/EPCOT)
:thumbsup2 Prime Rib at the Pepper Market (CSR)

Epcot - Morocco
AK - Flame Tree BBQ

P.S. A little used tip for breakfast, you can use your snack on the Dining Plan for a pastry, bagal or cereal and milk. Just a tip if you are intrested.

thanks so much for all your quick responses we will have to try the tangerine cafe and cosmic rays!!!

Pizza Planet at MGM. There's no kids' meal, so everyone gets a pizza, salad, dessert, and drink. Your kids probably won't eat a whole pizza(I couldn't) so he could get 2 out of this deal!

Most of the CS places provide more food than I can eat. Pecos Bill has especially big entrees, and when you throw in all the good stuff at their condiments bar, you walk out stuffed.
