We're actually at DL right now, and the internet here at our hotel isn't the greatest, so I'm having a hard time looking at long threads or searching. I thought you guys wouldn't mind helping me out! Everybody else is napping, so I need to do some recon. :lmao:

I promised my kids 2 character meals, but I haven't booked any. :rolleyes1 They don't so much care about greeting the characters, as they just want the Disney atmosphere, and they really enjoy the little activities that they have at Mickeys (used to be Lilo and Stitch). We always do Lilo/Mickeys or Ariels. Does Goofy's or Storytellers have activities for the kids during the meal? Any other suggestions? The kids are 7, soon to be 5 (this is a birthday trip, he's 5 in a few days) and almost 2. The 2 year old doesn't care for meals or characters at all, she just wants OUT so she can walk around pointing at people.

Thanks for the info!

At Goofy's Kitchen the kids can get up and dance with Goofy every 20-30 minutes. I have the cutest picture of my goofy son dancing with Goofy and about 30 other kids. They do it right in front of the buffet in the middle of the restaurant.

From what I remember, Storyteller's also has activities. When I was there a couple of years ago, there were a couple of sing-alongs with coordinating movements and a few variations on Follow the Leader.

Like a PP mentioned, GK has activities at regular intervals where they "cook" with Goofy and his friends. Minnie & Friends also does random dances and such with the kids but it didn't look as entertaining as the GK activity, IMO. I think your daughter will enjoy GK more as the characters were very interactive with the kids and would linger around longer. M&F seemed more restrained and the characters were always in a rush to move on to the next table.

I was just at Goofy's on Friday - they have an activity every 30 minutes - alternating between dancing with Goofy and baking a cake with Goofy. They are cute! Had breakfast at PPH (Surf's Up! with Mickey & Friends) and they had a few different activities - hula hooping with Minnie, surf lesson with Stitch, and dancing with Stitch and Mickey while we were there. Last we were at Storytellers was August and as PP said, they had some sort of follow the leader thing with Chip & Dale. Also have not been to Ariel's Grotto since August, but all the times we have been there, there is no interactive activity - just some royal announcements introducing the princesses. Last time there was also some sort of little ceremony but it only involved one family.

Hope that helps! We are at DLR too, here's hoping the rain goes easy on us! :)

So far it hasn't been bad, but we just got here yesterday. I hope it rains just enough to keep the crowds down. I still haven't decided. I'm so indecisive. The boy wants to go to Mickey's/Goofy's and this trip is for his birthday so I should just do that. But I want to try out the Storytellers, because we're moving out of CA and won't be going to DL much at all after that, and we've never been.
