I am trying to help a friend who is taking her 6 year old for the first time. Since they have never been before, they want to do a lot of great places, and they want to do a lot of the character meals. They will be doing the Deluxe Dining plan, so the 2 table services should not be an issue.

Which character meals do you love and would recommend to someone going with their daughter for the first time?

She is going to do cinderella's Round table....any others?

1900 Park Fare. Even though they are already doing CRT, this is a bit different. Its only Cinderella but Prince Charming, Lady Tremain and the Step Sisters are here and its a hoot! We love this place!

Another one we really like is O'hana for Breakfast. Lilo and Stitch are there and the food is really good!!

Crystal Palace at MK is a must for us. THey have Pooh and friends there. Good food too.
Also Chef Mickey's at CR. Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy are all there, dressed in Chef's outfits....to cute.

Our meals in order are (we love all of these) - not mentioning the castle since they're already doing that

Akershus - breakfast - our all time favorite place - we dine there twice per trip - every trip! Our DD is a princess lover!

1900 Park Fare - dinner - love Cinderella and the Prince. The sisters are fun too

Chef Mickeys - we skipped it one trip and missed it - the atmosphere is just plain old fashioned fun! And so Disney!

Tusker House - a new favorite - only been there on one trip (Sept 2009) but really enjoyed it

1900 Park Fare breakfast - it's a new favorite too!

We've also enjoyed

Cape May (but much calmer than Chef Mickeys - food was great but characters didn't seem as much fun).

Garden Grill - LOVED Chip and Dale but this isn't a must do for us.

Crystal Palace - did it one year for dinner. Food and characters were good but DD (now age 10) has "outgrown" the Winnie the Pooh gang....or so she says.

1900 Park Fare and Ohana. 1900 is great for the character interaction. The food is good as well. If they want to do alot of Character meals then I also suggest Ohana with Lilo and Stitch. The reason why is the food is great. Also it comes to your table in a huge wok. Which is really nice where sometimes at Character meals you are always up and down with going to the buffet and trying to take pictures. This Character meal is a little more relaxing.

If they plan to see Fantasmic I would also suggest doing the Fantasmic dining package. You pick one of three restaurants and HS and then have separate access to get into Fantasmic.

Eh, just have them do ALL the character meals!

1900 Park Fare for dinner and breakfast (different characters for each!)
Crystal Palace- breakfast or dinner
Chef Mickey's - breakfast
Tusker House - breakfast
Akershus - breakfast (unless could skip if already doing CRT!)
Ohana's- breakfast
Cape May Cafe- breakfast
Garden Grill - dinner

Absolute must dos for us are Akershus breakfast and Cape May Cafe. Both have really great food and wonderful character interaction. We always get ADRs for both before the park open, they are both a great way to start the day :goodvibes. Even though they are not must dos, we do really like Tusker House and O'hana's as well. Both of these have great food and great character interaction as well. We are also trying out Crystal Palace breakfast for the first time in September and are very excited about it. Hope this helps :goodvibes

Crystal Palace breakfast is an absolute "must do" for us. We also usually do Chef Mickey's breakfast & Ohana breakfast as well.

I'd say 1900 PF (breakfast and dinner), Tusker House (breakfast), Cape May Cafe (breakfast), Ohana (breakfast), Garden Grill, Crystal Palace and Akershus (breakfast). I'd personally skip Chef Mickey's just because it was horrible when we were there and you can get you Fab 5 fix with Ohana, Cape May, Tusker House and Garden Grill.

In Feb we went to a couple.

Ohanas which was really fast interaction and not so great food. Kids have no interest in going back. If you have a Stitch fan then it would be worth it but otherwise no.

Cape May the food was good and the character interaction really great. The characters were not in a rush and would stop and play with the kids. There was no crowd at all. We are going back in October.

Crystal Palace for breakfast.
Tusker House for breakfast.
Chef Mickey's for dinner.

Crystal Palace breakfast is a must do for us. Pooh, Tigger and the gang and yummy food. Chef Mickey for dinner is also our tradition. We love taking the monorail into CR and then getting to have dinner with the Fab 5. It just feels like Disney there.

We hae done soooo many and have enjoyed them so much. We usually do 5 or so a trip. However, the kids are getting older so we are scaling back this trip. They did ask to do dinner at 190PF since it is one fo the few we have not done. Even my DD who will be 16 is excited to try it.

There is one that we have done on every one of our trips since the first and always will on every trip and that is Chef Mickey. It is truly "Disney" to me and Disney wouldn't be Disney without a stop there. We usually go twice (one breakfast, one dinner) but in an effort to scale back this year we are just doing our traditional last day breakfast. It makes leaving a little less sad and gives us something to look forward to as the trip draws to a close. IMO, it is the best and we just love it, I know your friends will too!!! (Then again, like I said inall our meals in all our trips we have yet to be disapointed so any choice is a good choice.) Have Fun!!!

Crystal Palace, B-L-D love Pooh and friends. Also I enjoy 1900 Park Fare, B-D. Both are buffet's which I'm not crazy about but I always return.

While I have gone to most all many that they don't offer anymore, these 2 I return too regularly.

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. Our kids are a little too old for Pooh & Gang now, but 6 should be just right.

1900 PF is a good choice too. Haven't been there in a while though, since we do Chef Mickey's more.

Tusker House breakfast, 1900 Park Fare dinner, and Crystal Palace (any meal).

We hated Chef Mickey's and will more than likely not return there. Blech.

We've only been to Tusker House, but we loved the character interaction & the food. We'll be going back in Nov.
