OK, I know I'm running a bit on the late side but I'm hoping to surprise the kids with an unplanned character meal. Which meals are the best in your opinion and which should be avoided? We are on a pretty strict budget but have decided to cut out the waterpark part to do a meal instead.... I'm hoping we can get something during the week.

We did two Character meals a few weeks ago. We did dinner at Liberty Tree tavern (LTT) in MK. And we did Donald Breakfast at AK.

Of the two LTT was the best. It was family style dining and we got to see Chip, Dale, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. The food was very good, Turkey, Ham and Beef. With Salad, Stuffing, Mac N Cheese, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. Dessert Apple Cobbler with Ice Cream.

well for breakfast I would recomend Donalds Breakfastasaurus if you want VIP's It's really good fun and if you get an early res you get great character interaction. Crystal palace is also good but it's a bit more crowded, but it does have pooh. Play and Dine at MGM is a whole new experince when it comes to character dnning, it's more of a show, and after the characters do their part they then do walk arounds. I would not recomend the swan one, you only get one character . But the creme dela Creme of all the character meals is Chef mickey's it has the best food and the best interaction.

I've done a lot of character meals and my favorite thus far is Liberty Tree Tavern. The food was great and the character interaction was amazing!

My second favorite would have to be Crystal Palace with Pooh and his friends. Once again great food, good selection; character interaction is good...not great at times because it gets crowded...but it's a very nice restaurant.

I wasn't fond of Chef Mickey - I know a lot of people love it but it's waaay too rushed for me.

Depends on their favorite characters. I love Crystal Palace because their food is excellent and it's an all you can eat buffet. It's of the Pooh characters.

We have only done Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but we loved it both times. None of us are really big breakfast eaters, so we scheduled it at 11 and did it as a brunch, which actually was pretty cost-effective as well as a nice meal with good character interaction. I know people have complained about being rushed here, but we did not have that experience. Maybe it was due to the later seating.

Garden Grill is a nice character meal. The food is family style and the characters and atmosphere are great! :thumbsup2

I can not believe that nobody has mentioned 1900 Park Fare or Ohana's. They are by far our favorite character meals. By the way, we LOVE character meals and have doen them all with the exception of AK Donald's Breakfastorous and the new one at Hollywood & Vine. The food at 1900 Park Fare and Ohana are wonderful and the character interactions are great. Chef Mickey's has a great atmosphere and CP is beautiful but so do 1900 & Ohana. Trust me, they can't be beat in terms of food, characters, and fun!

I would pick whichever character set I wanted to see and go to Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, or 1900 Park Faire accordingly. Or if you must have Lilo and Stitch, do 'Ohana breakfast.

For us on this last trip, Chef Mickey's had the best food and service of the three, Park Faire a close second, and Crystal Palace lagged. As far as interaction with the Characters, Chef Mickey's and Park Faire were a close 1-2 and Crystal Palace again lagged.

For breakfast either Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK or 1900 Park Fair. They probably have the best food.

For dinner either 1900 Park Fair or Liberty Tree Tavern again probably have the best food.

It really depends upon who your kid's favorite characters are.

My whole family loves the character meals, but as some have said already, their are some that are better than other.

We initially loved Chef Mickey's at the Cont. but the last two times we went we were let down by the service, so we didn't do it the last time we went.

But my favorite Character Meals are: Liberty Tree Tavern, Great for Supper
:tigger: my favorite Crystal Palace, Great for Breakfast
1900 Parkfare is great for any meal

Characters at Liberty Tree are: Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Chip & Dale
Characters at Crystal Palace : Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet
Characters at 1900 Park Fare: Breakfast: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, and Bert Lunch and on: Cinderella Cast

If you want to save money maybe do a character meal for breakfast as that can be a lot cheaper than a character dinner, but it's just an idea :) I need to go back to sleep, but later I will try to list which characters are at which character meal, I pretty much got it :)

Now my favorite character meal is the dinner at the 1900 Park Fare, because Suzy Mouse and Perla Mouse are there :goodvibes Now for some pictures of Suzy and Perla at the 1900 Park Fare :goodvibes

Ekersus in Norway if you want a princess meal. The food is outstanding. For non-princess we do Chef Mickey's quite a bit as my daughter really likes it but the food is OK not spectacular. We did the garden grill last trip and the food was very good and my daughter did enjoy it and want's to go again on the next trip.

I forgot to mention, do lunches not dinner if you can. The cost is cheaper and you are getting basically the same stuff.
