I have a Droid Razr smartphone and I LOVE it (android), the dh has a Tracfone and only carries it for emergencies.

I'm a part-time FL resident and chose my carrier because it was the only one with 4G LTE service and a good signal in both areas. Before you choose the phone, check the coverage for all carriers, I know the info shocked me. I assumed whomever you picked you could talk, text, surf -- wrong.

Four cell phones on our plan and none of them are smart - no data plans.

I phone 5 x2 here!

Galaxy S3!

I will also say that in my experience, many people are moving away from Iphones and moving to Droids.

Droid X2. We had Blackberry's before that. Can't bring myself to get an iphone. Probably because so many think it's the "have to have" item and trendy. Which this poll so obviously shows. A lot of people have Droid's and obviously you are an iphone person.

None of the above.

I am the proud owner of a Virgin Mobile Kyocera Switch Back.

The phone is ancient, but I really like it. It has the flip keyboard for when I want to text, and is easy to use. I don't go on the internet (I am still grandfathered in to the $.15/minute plan that does not exist anymore), so I don't need a fancier phone.

"Other" - HTC Incredible S 4G, running Andriod 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

:confused:Confused by the poll choices that focus on iPhone iOS (software) versions but BlackBerry hardware and 'Other'. It really compares 'Apples' to oranges, pardon the pun. It should either compare hardware (Apple, Samsung, BlackBerry, etc.) or software (Apple iOS, Google Android, BB, etc.) to return meaningful results.

Here are the market share trends from International Data Corporation (IDC) as posted on ZDNet on Feb 14, 2013:

Market Share as of Q4 2012 (software):
Android (Google): 70.1%
iOS (Apple): 21%
BlackBerry 3.2%
Windows Phone (Ms Windows): 2.6%
Other: 3%

Samsung Galaxy Note II. It's an amazing phone, but quite large. This is ok with me for the way I use a phone but wouldn't work for a lot of people, my dh included. He has a droid Bionic (Motorola?) and he finds it too large for his taste because it doesn't fit easily into his pocket. Otherwise, he loves the features--it's his first smartphone.

My oldest dd has an iphone5. She got it because she got confused by all of the options with droids and wanted a basic smartphone that was more intuitive for someone like her. She mainly uses it to check email and to play music when she's running. I find it a little basic and limited but she loves it.

To be honest, I sometimes miss the old days of flip phones! I didn't feel like I always had to check my phone.

I have a windows phone :) its nice

Me, too! We are a Windows phone family. DH and I both have Nokia Lumia 822s that run on Windows 8. DD has an HTC Trophy that uses Windows 7. Love them, wouldn't ever want an Apple or Android.

I have an iPhone 4 and am probably going to upgrade to an iPhone 5 soon. :) If I can afford one. Might have to wait until this summer though. Since we're going to Disney World in June!

I have an iphone 5 as my primary phone and a Samsung Galaxy Blaze as my secondary phone( I have no landline and take call for my job). The Android is a cute phone, has pretty good bells and whistles, but the iphone is just seamless.

If i had done the poll it would have had the following choices, Iphone, Android, Windows, Blackberry, and Other.

Since Android outsold Iphone last year - Yes.

Of course androids outsold iPhones. There is only one manufacturer of iPhones and loads of android manufacturers. There is also a pretty substantial price difference. You can buy some androids for almost nothing where iPhones are hundreds of dollars.

It's more than cost, it's the fact that Google/Android does not control me and treat me like a sock puppet.

ITA! With how much you pay for an iPhone, you should be able to put whatever you want on the phone and not have to worry about Apple censoring it. It is kind of ironic that Apple has become the "big brother" that they made fun of way back in 1984.

I am by no means an Apple hater. My current laptop and my previous laptops have all been Macs, and I love them, but there is a huge difference between an Apple laptop and an Apple iPhone/iPad. With a laptop, I am free to put whatever I want to on the machine without having to "hack" it.

Yup - an open marketplace does wonders, doesn't it? That's why Android is taking over - competition is driving the price down.

The technology in iPhones does not warrant the premium price.
