We (3 adults, 2 teens and an 8 and 10 yo) are trying to decide on a catamaran excursion for our group that is worth the bucks. Which is better for us? The Champagne sail out of St. Thomas or the Golden Eagle from St. Maarrten? We are also concerned w/the "Topless" beach scene!

We would apreciate any feedback.....Thanks! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Last March we did the Golden Eagle Catamaran and we had a blast.

We were me, my DH and my two DD (13 and 11)

It was the best part of our cruise.

We had non alcoholic drink at the beginning. While you snorkel they served you beer and alcoholic punch (non for children) on the beach and on the way back you have lunch (sandwich) and champagne.

The crew is fantastic.

It was perfect....

My DS8 and I did the Golden Eagle Catamaran last year too and it was a blast! We are planning to do it again on our FEB 22 cruise.

Another vote for the Golden Eagle. We did this in January 02. We had the best time on this excursion. I would do it again in a minute! The ride back to the ship was soooo much fun. As you get closer to the ships they turn the music up a little more and EVERYONE on the catamaran is on their feet dancing and singing.

A storm had come through the night before we docked and the water was rough and murky at the beach we were suppose to go to so they took us to an alternate beach. It was a topless beach but I only remember seeing maybe 2 topless women and they really should have kept the tops on:rolleyes: . Anyway, I don't think DD7 at the time even noticed them because she didn't say a word about it.

Thanks so much everyone. We could not decide. With the exception of the price we really did not know the difference. Now we know we can save some $ and pretty much be assured of a descent experience. Guess we will just have to SHOP in St. Thomas! Aren't these boards great?!:Pinkbounc :smooth: :Pinkbounc :smooth: :Pinkbounc

We were very happy with Golden Eagle. They brought drinks to us in the water and also has a nice snack of sub sandwiches. Bring a couple dollars to tip the crew they made the excursion very special.

my family did the St. Christopher Snorkel trip in St. Thomas, and we really enjoyed it. You go out by Buck Island and you snorkel off the side of the ship. The crew feed the fish, and they come in hoards by the boat. Would recommend this to others...
