Which CAT 11's are best?

I've been in a CAT 4 and LOVED the verandah...I'm going to miss it terribly...but the only way I can go next summer is to book 2 11's for our family of 5. Are some better than others? Some people seem to prefer the sideways ones. I like the front of the ship and was thinking about deck 5. (somebody else snagged all the SPH 10's) Any suggestions?

My parents have 5501 for our sept trip...so I can't say yet, but I heard they were cool. I think there are reviews at the top of this forum for each cabin. You might take a look.

edited to add: its under the stateroom heading at the top and once you are in click on stateroom reports

Well, if you liked the verandah and think you might miss it. I suggest 7127 and one nearby. This is aft and right near the secret deck. I believe the rooms aft deck 7 only sleep 3, but with 5 and 2 rooms this would work.

We loved going out on the deck. It was usually deserted and there is plenty of space.

Room 5013 is a cat 11. The setup is different than most cat 11 and it seemed roomier. There is even when of the blue trunks in the room.

If I ever can not get the Secret Porthole Cat. 10 rooms on Deck 5, my second choice will be one of the Cat. 11 sideways rooms. I like the set up and they 'feel' larger. I also love the location.

The sideways Cat 11 rooms are:

5001
5005
5009
5013
5501
5505
5509
5513

I love that hall, it is SO quiet and VERY easy for my kids to find the room since it is such a short hallway (my kids are 11, so we let them check out of the Lab and walk back to the room themsevles, the room was just around the corner from the Lab, and the movie theater is just down the hall, and the Walt Disney theater is just down the stairs by this hall. I think it is a great location).

I don't have pictures, but when you walk in the couch is across from the door. Then to one side is the bed and dresser area, to the other side is the bath and closet area. By walking in across form the couch, there seems to be more room. These Cat. 11 also had steamer trunks (we didn't have one in the other Cat. 11s we stay in). The other thing is you can't see in the bathroom if you leave the bath door open and someone opens the front door since the bath is around the corner from where you walk in.

It is hard to describe it, wish I had pictures. But we really liked them (our friends stayed in them, we haven't but they are now our second choice AFTER the Secret Porthole rooms--love the window if we can get it for free).

To picture the sideways cat 11s take the following picture

Now imagine....You're standing standing back against the wall looking down the room with the bathroom immediately on your left and the closet on your right. Put a door beween the TV and the bathroom.

We stayed in a sideways 11 and loved it. They are all forward (front of ship) on Deck 5 or six. NO connecting rooms but you could get two next to each other. And it DOES seem roomier.

I will be cruising next week on deck 7 room 7629 cat 11. I heard this was a good area. I will let you know upon my return.

Thanks everyone- I wound up booking 5509 and 5513. I would still like to hear from Hawaii5o how they like 7629 :flower:
Thanks for the pictures too!

You can book two SPR at the price of cat 11. This would give you guys the split bathrooms.

Actually, the SPRs are at the Cat. 10 price.

Oh I thought the SPR's are Cat 11 rooms prices but in a Cat 10 area but you have the obstructed view.

Well my TA missed up and charged me wrong. Good deal more so for me. I was charged the base price for a Cat 11 room for our SPR.

Edit: My ta just gave me the wrong cat's when she priced the SPR. Sorry it is a higher cat. She laughed when I emailed her and she explained herself.
