I am not booking it yet but want to hire from MCO to cape canaveral for cruise and then rehire after back to MCO.

Did look at hiring for the whole time but it appears to be a lot cheaper to off hire and then rehire. But is it an inconvenience to do this?

What do you think? Thanks

Dates are 31 August to 2nd september and then 6th September to 13th September

net flights are usualy good,
have also used usrentacar

For a short cruise we have always kept the car and paid for parking, check the prices but remember you lose a days rental as you collect early morning yet drop off later at the airport on you final day so it doesn't work well. You also sometimes get better rates by keeping the whole trip, every trip has to be prices up and compared.
I think it caost us about £100 extra to keep the car and pay for parking last year, worth it to me to keep the storage space and not mess with shuttle buses.

You are probably too late now but Holiday Autos have had a sale on today with some very good prices http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2929432
The 2 Paul has quoted are 2 we use often (Netflights has been down tonight, not sure if its back up yet)

If you are in no rush hopefully a deal with come up for you.

Like Wayne, with the shorter cruises, we have always kept the car and paid fo rparking at the port. Overall, it is a lot less hassle than dropping off/picking up and having to mess around with shuttles.

We nearly always find that USRentacar are the cheapest when it comes to car hire for us. The best thing to do is get a few quotes and compare prices.

Hi Joh

Is it a real hassle then doing the shuttle bus? I have looked up with Dollar and with the parking and hire charge it is saving us about £120 which I would rather spend in the parks.

Dollar were terrible in October. Gary and Tony ended up getting a taxi from the depot in the end because they had waited over an hour for a shuttle bus (they only had one operating). Don't know about the shuttle to go back afterwards since, not wanting to take any chances, they just got a taxi again. If you are going to save a significant amount by dropping the car off before and picking up again after the cruise, I would at least be prepared to get a taxi from the car rental depot.

We used Budget, no problem with the shuttles, just a few minutes wait each way.
We also fell lucky getting off shuttle first and no-one else in the line when we got back, I can see long waits as there was only 1 agent running the place.
The car we got was the worst car rental we have ever had, 7 seater minivan instead of a full size SUV we had ordered, it hadn't been cleaned or serviced, crisp bags inside, no water on washers etc.
Maybe it was a bad day for them but at £120 I would probably park up the car.

I just did some quick prices and looks to be around £50 more for the car plus parking, is that $15/day now? = £38, that would be £88 difference.

When you are ready to book post your prices and options and I will see if I can do any better.

We used Budget in March and had no problems at all. One thing to bear in mind though is that Budget's policy is to bring everybody back FROM the ships first before they take anybody TO the ships, which we didn't know at first so we were wondering why shuttles were driving away from the depot empty leaving us to wait and wonder.
