which cabanas are actually beach front/beach view?

All are on the family beach. They only difference as I understand is that the higher numbers have a little tidal pool in front of them not the open water.

I was just looking at the photo of the day thread and the view on one posted looked like lots of seagrass

Cabana #9 from our October 30 sailing on the Dream. This is our favorite cabana as the palm tree is perfectly placed to provide maximum shade. The cabana itself is also slightly turned in to face the ship making this "the best" cabana.

So if Cabana #9 were not available, do you have a ranking of what your next favourites might be? Is there a list somewhere that denotes the advantages/disadvantages of the various cabanas on each of the beaches (closeness to food, etc.)? It has been a number of years since I have been to Castaway Cay and we didn't rent a cabana when we were there the last time so I didn't give them much thought, but I am definitely making it a consideration for our next trip.

My understanding of the older postings is that the best ones are from 3 to 8. Maybe you can find the older post.

From the many discussions around "the best" cabana it seems that most people either voice for the low numbers of the cabanas due to the proximity of the food and bathrooms. Others seem to like the higher numbers because they are more remote and away from the noisier beach. We have had #9 for our last two cruises and just by walking past the other cabanas we hands down like it the most. Number one reason for us is the extra shade from the tree over the hammock and the slightly directed view for a more direct view at the ship that perfectly frames your view. My wife and I are going to try an adult beach cabana for our christmas cruise.

All that being said I think any cabana would be awesome. The concierge hosts from the ship helps with questions and assistance for cabana guests and you have the concierge bartender from the ship running drinks for you. On top that of that it includes all the perks like inclusions of snorkeling gear and bike rentals. No matter the number it is awesome.

This is the beach in front of Cabana 20, which is 2nd from the end. There wasn't a lot of vegetation for privacy but the way the cabanas are angled, they were still pretty private. There is a beach in front of all of them, but as you can see the cabanas on the end are in front of a small pond/tide pool. It might be nice if you're with really little ones or if you don't plan on spending a ton of time in the water as it's probably the most quiet family area on all of CC. When we were there, everyone had to get out of the tide pool because we were getting bitten by what CM's said was sea lice in the water. This was only a problem in the tide pool. No one had any issues in the water on the main cabana beach. I'm not sure if this is the case all the time or only a problem the time of year we were there (early March) but I would definitely shoot for cabanas with the lower numbers, which are in front of the main private beach and closer to the food and fun.

We had 4 and loved it. I think 5 might have a bit more shade. The location was what sold it for us: close to all the amenities but far enough to be quiet.
