We are going to the Poly in Feb and at first I booked Lagoon, then I added 3 days to our trip so now I dropped down to garden view. I would rather have a longer trip at this time. (some day lagoon concierge!) Anyway I was looking on the map and I want to request something decent (not the parking lot please!!!) We have 3 kids (boys 9 and 5 and a 2 yr old princess!) so being close to all the important stuff is a plus.
How do you get what you want? I requested non smoking room, ground floor, refrig. etc. but how do you get the building you want. What is the best way to get your request is what I am asking, some people on these boards have the greatest luck, I don't! Help! thanks again!!! :wizard: :earboy2: princess:

I'm leaving tomorrow for a stay at the Polynesian. This is our favorite resort. We have always faxed our requests to the attention of the room controller a few days before arrival and have always gotten what we wanted. Our favorite building is Samoa. It is close to the pool, beach, and great ceremonial house. We usually request Samoa, pool side, 1st floor. Last time we had room 1605 and it was great!

Oh, great! I was thinking the Somoa might be a good choice. I was so disappointed switching from lagoon for fear of getting a parking lot view. I am so hoping they will honor my request. We are going Feb 12-19 right before the pres. week hits. We were lucky enough to get value rate on the rooms even though peak starts Feb 17. What are your thoughts on the luau? I have hear such mixed things. thanks ::MinnieMo

We faxed in a request in Dec. but we didn't get our request (that ended up being good because after seeing the building it wouldn't have been good for us). We didn't like the room we got so we told them we wanted to switch and we got a better room. We stayed in Tokelau. If you don't like the room, ask to change. Also, we forgot to request a fridge, but we told them at check-in and they quickly brought one up. I saw the Samoa building and it's right between the 2 pools and close to everything.

I can't answer your question about the luau because I haven't done that since I was little. Have a great trip!

We will be there in April. Can't wait. Check out the site tikiman2001. You will get a lot of great info from it.

I can't wait!! I heard the fax thing too, some say a few days ahead, what is the best time to ask? I am hoping the week we go it wont be too crowded and we can "pick" our room. the tikiman website is great, but I wanted to get a general answer and opinion. It also concerns me tiki website does not mention the luau!! LOL I think between the pools would be best w/ our kids ages. We are doing MK and Epcot twice each and one animal kingdom day and one seaworld day so I like the convenience of being close to the boat and walk to ttc. thanks!

Our favorite longhouse is Samoa. Last time we had room 1602, this is volcano pool view ground floor. Its also a hop, skip and jump to captain cooks and the quiet pool is around the corner. Its a little walk to the TTC and we usually take the monorail or the boat, the boat is not too long a walk. If you are not planning to use the pools during your stay, you might want to look at tikimans site and get a longhouse closer to the ttc. I know Rapa Nui is closer, but its handicapped rooms and I think part of that has a parking lot view. My own 2nd choice is Rarotonga, but we want to be close to the GCH and monorail so I dont think that is what you have in mind. Only my dh and I have been to the luau. Its expensive and I dont think we will do it again. Its not the greatest food and it seems to drag on a bit. I dont know if your 2 yo would have the attention span to sit through the whole thing, also it is cancelled if the weather is inclement etc.

Tokelau was a good location. We were on the third flood and had a view of the lagoon for GV prices. It is right next to the quiet pool a short walk to both the TTC and GCH. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if I could help it.

Have fun!

Stitch's greatest fan.....were Lilo and Stitch at the character breakfasts at all or anywhere to be found? It is our favorite movie and we all love Stitch too, I was wondering where to find him and the WDisney line was not much help believe it or not. Also, I was sort of thinking of the Samoa, how come the one that is your fav is your fav? It seems like such a long building is there a better place to be in this building? Better side to be on? thanks again!

5 weeks 1 day to go..... :cheer2:
