Of all the types out there, which repellent works the best for mosquitos? We'll be going to WDW in a couple of weeks and I want to buy the most effective repellent I can. Besides the annoyance of itchy bites, I'm also concerned about the West Nile virus. I don't know anyone who sells Avon, so store-bought suggestions would be best.

The shelf at out local store has various brands in many forms.....sprays, lotions and sticks.

At home we usually use Burt's Bee's (all natural) or a similar product but we just got back from WDW and the Mosquitos are vicious! We ended up buying a bottle of Off (of course I forgot to pack the new bottle from home) and they still were biting.

Now we stayed at Ft Wilderness and we had a lot of rain/standing water which CMs said made the mosquitos much worse than usual. Even our stay at ASSp I used Off one evening when we were at the pools late.

Didn't notice any bugs in the parks at all.

I usually pack the Off. I also take a "Skeeter Beeter" stick for the after bites. I did hear on TV the other day, that you are to wipe yourself with a "Bounce" fabric sheet. This came from a guy that wrote the book "Haley's Hints". The book is suppose to be really big. He is on TV alot. I am curious if anyone has tried this and if it does work. Anyone?

Hmmm.....that Bounce thing sounds interesting.

IMHO Cutter "Evergreen" scent works the best. The mosquito population is the worst in years here in Fla. Now on top of that, the west nile virus is making a presence.

Don't know if you have children or not, but some bug repellants (ie Off, Cutters etc) have too much deet (main ingredient for bug spray) and it can be harmful for young children. We use Skintastic for the kiddies and we use the strong stuff for us---just to be on the safe side. In a few years deet will probably be a good thing for kids but for now the experts say its not such a good idea! Hope this helps!

i just bought some repellent from the fuller brush company that works great. it is all naturtal so it isnt harmful to any one
i wouldnt use anything else.

Be careful of the sunscreen and bug spray around kids' eyes -- we spent an hour in the first aid room at Epcot because my daughter's skin was sensitive. We used Off Cutter bug stuff and I can't remember which sunscreen -- it was PABA-free, though.

We went last week and I have to say the bugs were not a problem for us. A few bites, but not too bad (none on me!). We spent time in Orlando, Tampa, and Kennedy Space Center...
