Which breakfast to keep?

We are staying at the poly for 3 nights. (Checking in Sunday and leaving Wednesday). We live two hours away and are annual pass holders but this will be our last visit for at least a year or two.

We have a 2.5 year old who loves character meals. We have heard ohana breakfast is a great one and since we are staying at the poly it seems to make sense to eat there but we would also like to try captain cooks and Kona.

Currently we have a 7:45 am at ohana on Monday am. Tuesday am we have an 8:00 am PPO at BOG mainly for the early park entry.

Is BOG worth it for breakfast? We weren't impressed for lunch but didn't pre order and the line was very long and service was terrible. With such little time, I would like to maximize park time and am not sure my daughter will wait in line for the opening show.

I also have a 9:35 ohana reservation on our last morning, but I like the idea of kicking off our first full day with a good breakfast.

Wwyd?

I would keep both 'Ohana on Monday and Ppo BOG on Tuesday. You will jump start the park unless the hours change.

I would keep Ohana and possibly take a look at getting a pre-park opening Crystal Palace. The breakfast there is awesome and so is the characters interaction. As you get closer to your date- you may find availability. Just a thought. The BOG breakfast isn't good at all. If budget is a concern- grab a bite a Capt Cooks- but early am we have found them to be a little chaotic. Maybe it will be better fo you.

We went to CP last time and while we enjoyed the food, the characters took forever to come around. We were finished eating and then just sat there waiting for them to make it around the room. This was on top of being seated 20 min after our reservation time. We really killed a lot of park time, so I prefer to only do PPO breakfasts if they can give us an advantage to less lines and a nice picture in front of the castle.

I would consider doing just a cupcake, but we are going to have to eat somewhere and aren't morning people so I don't think we will do well eating somewhere else first and still be able to make our 8am reservation. I wish their food didn't suck so much.

We love Ohana especially since it is served family style instead of buffet. We have not tried CP for breakfast yet (we have an ADR) but always go for lunch and love the character interaction. We are also trying BoG for breakfast this trip so I can't be of help on that on sorry. I hope you have a great trip!!!!

Another vote for keeping Ohana. You are right, it's a fun way to start your day. We always really enjoy it. I would keep your BOG breakfast for the early entry, and make sure you pre-order.

I'd keep Ohana. I love the atmosphere and the characters....and yes the food too. There's plenty of it. Its a nice relaxing fun breakfast. I highly recommend it!

I also agree with CP PPO, love the breakfast there. Great food, always fresh...cute character interaction. And the bonus, getting there before the park opens.

Thanks for the advice, we are keeping ohana and bog. Does anyone know the best way to get from the poly to mk for an 8am reservation? I called the poly and they said the buses and monorail start 1 hr before park opening. I guess we could uber, but we did that from akl last time and they actually did have buses running...

I don't think that's true. They have transportation so that people can get to their ADRs.

Remember that there's no real way to call the actual resort; you're getting a call center (not at WDW, and probably not in FL) that will lie through their teeth.

Also, watch those park hours.

BOG is a fantastic setting. Theming is wonderful. The food is in my opinion NOT worth the price. Breakfast before the price hike was not a great value, after it is way too much for what you get. ..Ours came cold besides. HOWEVER what is the early entry worth to you? For me pre price hike it was worth it for the close proximity to Mine train and Fantasyland. I ascribe a $10 value to that because if they offered just that early access ahead of the rope drop crowd that is what I would happily pay. So with an 8am ressie if the access is important maybe...
