Hi, am booking today for 2 weeks in the summer hols 2006 (with Travel City Direct) . does anyone have any advice about which two weeks, or are they all as busy as each other !!!

many thanks
FF

Definately pick the last two, as the US schools, plus a lot of schools in Europe (including Scotland) go back mid August. Its actually quite a quiet time to go, however the downsides are that it is still very hot and its Hurricane season (but then that is true of all of the summer months!). Crowd wise, anything after the 18th is generally moderate to quiet.

I second the second half of August, though we found it was still very busy - not as busy as the first half though. It will be very hot and humid and you do need to take frequent breaks and drink LOADS.

Hiya

Completley agree with the above two posters. I have just returned from Orlando and found the last few days a lot quieter (but still busy) than the rest of the holiday.

You've got me worried now :earseek:
Planning for our first visit which will have to be July or 1st two weeks in August; to fit with Scottish school holidays.
Will this mean parks will be very busy?

I woulf go for the last two as well, or if you can strech it into September

HI

Last year we went the last two weeks of August and were really suprised how quiet it was, still fairly busy but nowhere near the crowds we experienced in June and July, so suprised we have booked to go back the exact same time again this year.

I have just got back been there the first two weeks of Aug and it was busy but if you plan well and have a few early days when everyone else is still in bed you will be fine.

I did lots of reading before booking this years holiday.

Last time we visited WDW, we went at a perfect time and didnt wait in any type of queue for any longer than 15 minutes. That includes IOA/SW/US. I planned hard and made sure I was aware of which parks would be busy and when etc.

This year we have to go in British school holidays. Eldest child is doing GCSE work so we just do not have the option to take kids out of school.

I read that the American kids are back at school late August, although Ive since read that Virginia school kids arent?
Also, Im almost sure someone mentioned a new law having been passed in America, whereby schools could go back later, but now I cant find the post. Typical!

Ill be sure to let you all know how we find it.

My son is there now and has been since Wednesday. He says the parks are really quiet and they haven't queued for ANYTHING longer than 10 mins.
