My YDD will turn 3 at the end of June. We are Thousand Trails camping members, which pretty much means we pay a set membership free and can camp at any of their camps for free. There is one near us with a little water park. Dh and I thought of just camping there for her birthday weekend, and having the party there.

I just called for prices. Three and under are free. The first 10 guests are free. After that, it's $5 per person. That gives them use of all the facilities: the pool, water park, mini golf, etc. I figure we'll probably just stay at the water park and then go have cake or something. To rent the indoor party space is $100 for the day. To rent the pavilion is $175. Or we could take our chances that no one is set up in the common picnic areas and set up there for free. I say do the indoor space since it's cheaper, and that isn't being used for the "bulk" of the party. Dh wants the pavilion. We also need to buy refreshments and everything on top of that. Which would YOU do?

If you book the indoor party space, you have a back up plan if it rains.

I voted for the indoor space ($100). If you don't book either space and the common area is being used, you are out of luck and have nowhere to set up. The indoor space will work fine and as the previous poster said, if it rains, you have a backup plan. I don't think the pavillion is worth almost twice the price of the indoor space, especially since you have to buy party supplies & refreshments.
