Maybe we missed something, but after years of 'we haven't ever been to the island!' we went last yr and regretted waiting in line as soon as we got on it. There was just nothing to do. Oh no, that's a lie- there was a chess board
Stitch's attraction is bad - very bad, and unless you can walk on with a 10 or less minute wait, I would not waste my time. The pre-show in the queue is better than the attraction myself - (IMHO!)
1) Tom Sawyer Island - in three years living here and very frequent trips to MK, we finally made time for this on Sunday - I won't say we will do it every time, but it was okay. DD ran around, and we sat at Aunt Polly's in the rocking chairs and DD had ice cream and I got some pics of Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mtn that you can only get from there.
2) Indy cars - DD likes these, but won't wait in a long line. It is just too too hot in the summer. She did this last Friday when we got to the park before opening for an early breakfast.
3) Swiss Family Treehouse --- too many steps, but again DD likes this and did it herself on Sunday, while I waited at the bottom - it really does not take too long.
4) Riverboat - this is a nice break. I have missed it during refurbishment. Looks like your trip is in early Sept??? - Not sure if it will be re-opened by then.
Whatever you choose to or not to do... I hope you have a MAGICAL trip!
While Carousel of Progress and It's a Small World may not be high tech, they are attractions that Walt Disney himself had something to do with. It's worth seeing them at least once IMO.
I voted for everything but the Riverboat, I have never been on that, so no opinion.
Let me just say that Tom Sawyer Island is cute, but the raft ride over can absoloutly ROAST you and definately not worth it if you don't have small kids. Even if you get on the raft near the end of the crowd, the few minutes crossing the River will bake you.
I'd skip ALL of the ones you mentioned plus stitch and astro orbiter.
I'd also choose bewteen Dumbo OR the Carpets.
I'd skip Jungle Cruise as well. (Sorry die hard JC fans ... I just don't get this one, it's cheesy!) BUT ... it IS a classic so everyone should to it once.
Save IASW for when ther are too many lines for anthing else.
It's hard for me to vote because I don't know how much time you have, but it appears that you go often enough they should be on the bottom of your must do lists!
We go to WDW often enough that we don't feel the need to try to get those attractions in unless we get the urge and the line is non-existant.
honestly, I think Stitch is the stupidest ride ever. Also, the worst waste of time is the NEW Enchanted Tiki Room. The reason why I didnt vote for Swiss Family is cause they have such great views from parts of the tree. Also, I dont think you have to have kids to go to Tom Sawyer Island. Every year that me and my sis go or me and my boyfreind go, it's a really relaxing and shady place to go when the crowds or the heat get to be overwhelming. We always go to Aunt Polly's and sit on the rocking chairs in the shade and watch the riverboat go by. It's really nice and peaceful, plus you can hear the background noises of Haunted Manion, just to remind you that you're still in the park. It's awesome.
I would probably skip the Indy Speedway. It's just not too much fun. The Liberty Bell is relaxing, and Tom Sawyer Island is pretty fun, and from my experience it's not very crowded.
