Which area or room at the Dolphin?

Since I have a standard view room I know nothing will be guaranteed, but wanted to get opinions on what area to request. I read somewhere that the far east wing is great but then read something about a man who had that area and his window faced a loading dock! If anyone has some helpful advice about this I would really appreciate it. This is my first stay here and I'm really excited!

bump!

I'd like to know how to find out which rooms have balconies also!

What are the ground floor rooms like...do they have a seating area/patio?

Thanks!
Sue:)

Since the SD policy is now not to block a requested room, why not just ask for your general preferences?
Want a balcony?? Asl for that.

Want it to overlook the Lagoon?? Tell them that. Prefer Epcot view? Let em know.

I always ask for "a balcony room on an upper floorwith an Epcot view"

Gets me what I want and is general enough for them to be able to work with it. After all. if I ask for Room 727 and it's booked when I get there, there is nothing else left for them to work with.

Good luck!

when should you make the request to the S/D? and should the room request be over fax, phone, or at the desk? im staying here also with a balcony and im really hoping i can score an upper level view of EPCOT. thanx

Some people recommend you use the online request form at www.swandolphin.com. You might want to try that, but, I've never had any luck with it.

I do two things...when I make my reservation, I make my request (you can call back and ask to have it added to your ressie) and I mention it again at check in.

Good luck to all!

Poohlovr's suggestion is great. You want to let them have enough to work with. They really do frown upon asking for a particular room, and I think you limit your chances that way to much.

There is a section on the Swan and Dolphin FAQ that tell you how to improve your chances of getting an upgrade. It is towards the bottom. Click on the link under the DIS Con clipart below to get there...good luck!
