Which airport for Vero Beach?

Just out of curiousity, which airport is most convienent for Vero and about how long is the drive from Disney? Is it near Kennedy Space center?? Thanks!

Try looking at the MLB thread - there are a few people who have used Melbourne Intl. and also Palm Beach. (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=582609)

We actually flew into Tampa and then drove to VB last Xmas. Bit longer than MLB or PBI, but the price was right at the time. Took us about 2 hours to drive from Tampa to VB- route 60 goes across FL.

MLB is the closest major airport to Vero, but is only serviced by Delta and Delta Conniections. PBI is a bit further, but is serviced by most major airlines.

We always fly into Orlando (MCO)...

There are so many different airlines and rental car agencies that it gives us an advantage when trying to find bargins...

If you are thinking about staying at one of the WDW resorts and then hopping to VB, I would strongly suggest MCO.

The drive from MCO to VB is about 80-90 minutes, depending on your speed, and takes you very near to KSC. (Just a few miles.)

Eventually, we may fly into Tampa or PBI on one of our trips where we go strictly to VB.

If we are just going to Vero and not to WDW -- we fly into Melbourne. Just did this last month and it was great. We are fortunate that the Delta schedules were very good for us. Cost was about $30 more per ticket than MCO, but it was worth it for us to have the shorter drive (about 45 miles) and a saner airport.
We looked at PBI, but there the flight schedules were very bad for us (one flight per day).
