We are going to Vero in April for a few days before the Disney Cruise. Our plan is to drive. With gas prices going up, it could be close to $4.00/gal in April, we decided to watch for some good airfare.

Which airport do we look at? If we do get a good flight, any idea how to get from Vero to Cape Canaveral?

TIA

Unless you can get a direct flight into Melbourne, FL, I would fly to Orlando, rent a car for the Vero portion of your trip, drop it off at the Port and then rent another car (we used Budget - great service) for our NYE cruise in December and drive to the airport after the cruise. :thumbsup2

I agree!

The only "major" airlines into Melbourne are Delta and USA3000 (??).

Delta (obviously) requires changing in Atlanta, while USA3000 has a Baltimore hub.

Even though Vero is farther from Orlando, flying into MCO is your better bet.

Fly into West Palm!
It should only be a little over an hour drive and only about 2 hours back from the cape.

We've flown into Orlando and West Palm to go to Vero. I absolutely recommend Orlando. The drive is 1 1/2 hrs and a very easy drive to make. West Palm is around 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, but the drive is riddled with construction. West Palm airport is small and relatively simple, but if you rent a car you have to drop it off-site and take a shuttle to the airport.
