Hi...are a family of 4 flying out of Buffalo in November.

Does anyone have suggestions on what airline we should use and when is the best time to book?

Thanks!

We fly out of Buffalo, Rochester, Detroit or Pittsburgh and have used Southwest, Spirit, and Airtran. Jetblue is another good one but whoever has the best price is what we go with. Never had any issues with any of them.

We just booked AirTran our of Buffalo, family of 4, for $600 all taxes in.

We have flown many times with SW and always had good service and flights were on time. They also seem to have more non stop flights than Airtran and JetBlue. We have been booked on Airtran but cancelled because they kept changing the flight times. If the price was similar between SW and JetBlue I would choose JetBlue because you can prebook your seats, the seats are more comfortable (I think a little roomier) and there is satellite TV on board.

Jet Blue would be my favourite- for the little tvs and selecting your seat, one bag free- but only one non stop a day I think- (flights were released May 8 for our Dec 18 flight last year at $72- they went up every day after )- Southwest would be my next choice for several non stops a day-and 2 bags free- don't like not selecting seat ahead and last time did pay for the early bird check in and got early A group- Airtran had noticeably less seat/leg room- my normal carry on did not fit under the seat like it does on Southwest or Jet Blue and knees were very close to seat ahead if not touching- AirTran also charges for luggage- don't like that but if the price was right I would use them again no problem- has XM radio to listen to and they did not change our flight too much only by a few minutes.
