We have two options for dinner one night of our trip coming up in a couple of weeks. We want to see Illuminations, which is at 9pm, during dinner.

We originally booked Rose & Crown at 7:50pm. We have not been there before, but the menu doesn't appeal to me a whole lot. I could find something to eat, though. DH would like the food.

When La Hacienda opened, we tried to get an ADR for that instead. However, the only time available was 7:15pm, so we took that. We both are interested in trying this place and like Mexican food. Not sure if the ADR is too early, though. I keep checking back to see if I can get a later ADR, but have had no luck.

I'd like to cancel whichever one we're not using, but I'm undecided. Does anyone have any thoughts on which would be better for us? Thanks!

I would keep the Hacienda, eat dinner (you should finish around 8:15), and go out and watch the fireworks outside the restaurant with everyone else. Watching from a restaurant is WAY over-rated. You usually can't see or hear half of the show.

Edited to add, quit double-booking ADR's. It's cheating the system and other guests.

As of a few minutes ago, La Hacienda still has an opening at 7:15pm on our night, so we are not taking away anyone else's opportunity to dine there by having it booked right now while we consider our options. I posted this because I want to cancel one of them soon, in case it helps someone else out. We have nothing else double-booked for either of our trips.

If you think you will like the food better, keep La Hacienda. Order lots and eat slowly. My experience there is that they are slow anyway.

If you don't care about the food and only booked these reservations so you have a shot at seeing fireworks from a restaurant, keep Rose & Crown.

I do not see that you have any small children, but if you do, you may want to consider the effect on them and on other diners of having them wait 2 hours in a restaurant for fireworks.

I am going to close this now, because although double-booking ADRS is not currently against any known or written rule of the Walt Disney company, the thread has already descended into fighting.
