We're planning a quick, last minute trip to WDW in April. DD will be 20 months at that time. We'll have 4 days for the parks, and we'd like to do 2 days in MK. We're thinking we'll do Epcot and AK the other two days...does that sound good? Will we be missing out on a lot she'd like in MGM? Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

I say skip MGM. I've taken our DS at 15 and 18 months and he loves Ecpot and AK. Not so much for him at MGM (except Playhouse Disney).

Our son was 22 months old when we went in May. At that time, there wasn't much for him in either Epcot or MGM. Many things in Epcot that he went on were loud and that really bothered him - especially Ellen's Energy Adventure and Journey into Imagination. Likewise at MGM - the shows had loud or dark moments and he got a little freaked out. The only thing he liked was the Playhouse Disney show which I didn't like since you have to sit on the floor and I was pregnant and uncomfortable. Epcot does now have the Nemo ride, but in Feb, he didn't seem to care for it much - he didn't want to ride it more than once (its not loud or scary or anything, he just didn't like it). So, I would say you could probably skip either of those at this age - we always go to Epcot because its my favorite.

The things my DS loved in Epcot were Living with the Land, Imagination, Spaceship Earth, El Rio del Tiempo, the fountains he could play in, and the entertainment in World Showcase (e.g. Off Kilter, British Invasion). I'm hoping he'll also like the new Nemo ride when we take him back in May!

I also say skip MGM. I think theres more at the other parks for kids that age.

I'd skip Epcot. Our daughter was 22 months and loved Playhouse Disney, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast shows at MGM. They also had Muppets 3-D, Honey I shrunk the Kids playground, and both kids loved the parade and Fantasmic!(with earplugs). She liked Turtle Talk at Epcot, but not much else for her age group.

I have two thoughts on this - One at that age while they will get a lot of joy out of it they really are along for the ride...getting wonder out of any new thing you show them. So do what's fun for you - as long as it isn't too taxing on the baby making her fussy therefor ruining your trip.

On the otherside as much as I love epcot and get a little more exploring done with my dd (now 8) each trip, at 20 months well it just wouldn't have been a thrill...other than as I said the wonder of all the new stuff surrounding her. On the other hand if you letyour dd watch tv there are several things at MGM that she will find delight in - Little mermaid, Beauty and the beast, Playhouse disney, Character meal. Not just wow look at all this flashy new stuff.

If you feel like springing for hopper tickets you could split your days among the parks however works out best...and this way if you get to mgm or epcot and realize it isn't working you can go elsewhere. However if you have to get back to the hotel for several hours for naps and back to it for an early bedtime splitting there may not be much time for this kind of thing.

Ditto...the little one will enjoy whatever you do. I personally think the parade at MGM was the best one-involves so many characters (my daughter LOVED seeing lighting McQueen & Mater). Then again, Epcot went well for us too. So whichever YOU think you'd enjoy more should be your choice.

I agree...MK and AK are *musts* for that age, and then choose whichever of Epcot and MGM that you most want to see for the 3rd. :)

DD is 21 months, we are skipping MGM. Not just because of her, because of the interests of the whole group. I really do think she will love EPCOT though, and the rest of us would miss the food and the shopping, not to mention the rides, lol. To me there is alot at MGM that I am willing to skip since we have seen it once before.
