Well, finally I can rest this week. Padalyn had an absessed tooth and was in complete agony to over the weekend. After much aggravation she finally got into the oral surgeon and got the tooth pulled and is finally feeling better. My Mom had surgery yesterday to move her ulnar nerve from the back of her elbow to the front of her arm, and is a cast for the next 10 days. Luckily the surgery was not on her dominant arm. She is feeling very good for being post -op for 26 hours. So for the past week I have been sleeping with one ear open. All I can say is percocet is a wonderful drug. I'm so glad to two most important people to me are on the mend. I even made a delicious batch of orange, cinnamon, brown sugar cream of wheat this morning....oh it was sooo good. (i'm normally not a breakfast eater, but made it for Mom so she could take her meds with food). As for me, today I am having a jammies day!!!

Order a pizza tonight! Glad things are better for you!

GACK:eek: pizza..........Not my favorite food. But I am making a pot of homemade stock today from the thanksgiving turkey carcass that has been taking up way to much freezer space. Today has been a clean out the freezer cooking day.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon. :)

Oh gosh, that's awful. Abcessed teeth are the worst! :scared: I sure hope she continues to feel better!

All the best to your Mom, too. You have been in the thick of it!

Ah. Homemade turkey soup. Love it. Our freezer could do with a bit of a clean out too.

Take care now and be sure to get some rest yourself!

I thank you all for the well wishes. I luckily can finally eat on that side of my mouth. The area is still tender, so I am eating mostly soft foods.

I have not seen Tiggr33's mom. However, Tig is sitting here eating yummies with me, and has left care packages for mom at home.

She gets the cast off on Monday - I am sure she is looking forward to it.

The abscess was caused by a broken tooth under a crown-no way to see it coming at all. The crown "splinted" the tooth so the break didn't even show on xray!

Even after 10 shots of local he intentionally hit the abcess - I swear the scream was heard miles away. The surgeon said his ears were ringing! The tooth came out without much trouble after that - so home with meds! I slept for 2 days. I swear, the next patient I see with tooth pain - they are getting all the pain meds I can wheedle out of the doctor!!!!

Glad your feeling better!

God I hate the dentist!

Mike - you really do need to get a life! that was interesting...I don't think her Dentist works in our home areas

my teeth hurt reading about the abcess! Glad your on the mend and Tig's mom is on the mend.

Please feel free to let me know when I can pick up my share of the home made soup.

She made me home made cream of mushroom soup the other day...yum!

And "she" made another batch of soup today for Mom. Thanks everyone, my Mom's arm is doing better, well it was until she forgot about it and leaned on her elbow at the dinner table tonight. OUCH!!!!! Her cast and staples came out yesterday. So it's just a bit tender. She has a 6" incision on the back of the elbow. And poor Mom, she was diagnosed with severe arthritis in the shoulder of her other arm as well yesterday.

Next week, maybe I'll make a winter vegetable soup. Or a cream of leek and califlower.
