Has anyone ever seen Lumpy (the Heffalump from the Pooh movie) at a character appearance?

Thanks! :teeth:

I think I last saw him just hangin' around and "givin' the business" to Wally and the Beaver.

:goodvibes

(If you don't get this joke, just ask your dad.) :thumbsup2

i went right after Pooh's Heffalump Movie came out and he wasn't anywhere to be seen! they didn't have any stuffed animals or anything! i was pretty disappointed. i bought a stuffed Lumpy from The Disney Store at my local mall. i haven't seen him as a meetable character either at the parks.

Lumpy is not a character in the parks. Never heard of anyone ever seeing him. :( Would be nice, though!

the movie didn't do very well and the character wasn't responded to well.

It wasn't in their best interests to make him a character.

besides themajority of four leged characters don't do meet and greets.

a few exceptions being Eeyore, pluto and dumbo

Wouldn't that have been Eddie Haskel? ;)

I've heard somewhere that The Disney Store has exclusive rights to Lumpy. I'm not sure why he's any different than other characters, and how he is exclusive to TDS, but apparantly he is.

It seems hard to believe, but it sort of makes sense. I've never seen anything with Lumpy in the parks. But walk into a Disney Store and there will be tons of Lumpy stuff: plush, beanies, shirts, etc.

I'd love to find out what the "business" reason for this is. Anyone else ever heard about this? :confused3 :confused3

It took a while after the film for any lumpy stuff to come out. Bit disappointed that we won't get to see him when we go.

Piglet and Rabbit are rarely seen as well and they are more prominent characters. I also think that some of the younger kids might confuse him with Dumbo because to them an elephant is an elephant.

Good day to you, Gregg.
(I hope you don't mind the familiarity of me calling you Gregg.)
My, but don't you look especially well today?
Is that a new outfit you're wearing? It certainly fits nicely!
I couldn't help noticing that you mentioned my name in connection with this question here on the wonderful DISboards.

It is my understanding that at the time of the incident, it was Clarence Rutherford (I believe that I've heard some of the fellows jokingly refer to him as "Lumpy") who was good-naturedly "ribbing" Wallace and Theodore Cleaver.
It was not I who was with the young Cleavers at that time, as I was over at the Malt Shop discussing possible themes for the decorations at next week's Sock Hop, with Mary Ellen Rogers.

However, it was so nice of you to be thinking of me.
Now, if you will excuse me, I must be moving along.
I believe I have a pressing appointment with the principal at his office this afternoon.

actually, i was in line with lumpy and his family this past march. we were on main street at the bakery waiting to buy breakfast when they got in line behind me. i knew for sure it was him when i noticed that all of his clothing, backpack, and hat were made by titleist. his son had on a t-shirt which read, "masters par three tournament caddie." so, at least that's where i saw lumpy.

Any idea when theyll put dumbo out again? :goodvibes

I think dd(5) would stand in just about nay line to see Lumpy, so if they ever did come out with him, I believe we'd be on the next flight south. ;)

My dd4 has both the Heffalump movie and the Halloween one. She has watched those a million times and loves Lumpy. Sad to see he's not a WDW. I'm surprised to hear the character wasn't responded to well. I was hoping they would come out with some new Winnie the Pooh cartoons with Lumpy someday. Guess kids aren't into those cute fuzzy characters anymore.

you know what, i DO remember hearing something about that. but i don't know the reason either, sorry.

i don't understand why they'd make another Pooh movie with Lumpy in it if the first movie didn't do so great anyway.

I met Lumpy (Frank Bank) (not the purple elephant) many years ago. His cousin lived across the street from us in Kansas City. He was very nice!

Lumpy, the purple elephant, does not appear and is not available in any form at WDW. He is a Disney Store exclusive. Not a bright move, IMHO. I hear people constantly asking CMs for Lumpy merchandise only to be told "Sorry, No Lumpy!".
