Where's a Good Place to Grab a Quick Dinner at DCR

We'll be arriving to WDW in the early evening. From what I've read, DME will drop us off at DCR even though we are staying at BLT. Our goal is to find something quick to eat (a burger or whatever) before we make our way to our room at BLT. I'm thinking since we will check in at DCR, we should just grab dinner there. Thoughts?

You are correct that there is no check in at BLT..all check in's are on the lower level at the CR for both CR and BLT. There also is no restaurant at the BLT unless you want to go up to the Top of the World which is on the top floor(16) of BLT. As I recall the faire is mostly appetizer types as it's mostly a lounge and not a restaurant.

The CR has a couple of restaurant choices on the main level for a quick meal including Chef Mickeys.

DME will drop you off at CR and you will check in there. We usually grab a quick bite at either Contempo Cafe or outside by the pool. There are separate menus at the CR pool (burgers were an option I believe) and the BLT pool (I don't remember a burger).

You are correct that there is no check in at BLT..all check in's are on the lower level at the CR for both CR and BLT. ....

If you arrive on your own and not on DME, you can check in at BLT. But if you arrive on DME, you need to check in at CR.

So not all check ins are at CR.

The TOTWL doesn't open until around 5PM. I'd head to the Contempo Cafe on the fourth floor of the Contemporary which is the same level as the fifth floor of BLT.

You've gotten some great advice. It sounds like Contempo Cafe should fit the bill for what you are looking for. And as has been said -- if you arrive by DME you will check-in at the Contemporary, otherwise you can check-in right at BLT.

I just wanted to add -- you really should think of BLT as an extension of the Contemporary, not as two separate resorts. Yes, they are in separate buildings but technically they are both part of the same resort and share amenities, etc. [However, there are some amenities at BLT, e.g., Top of the World Lounge that are not available to guests at the main Contemporary resort.]

The TOWL has next to nothing to eat. Very, very limited appetizer menu. When we stayed at BLT we arrived at like 8:30, checked in, dropped our stuff in the villa then ran down to the Contempo Cafe over at the Contemporary and got "take out" and took it back up to eat on our balcony while watching Wishes. The Contempo Cafe has a nice selection of sandwiches and entrees and they're set up to package stuff "to go" if you want. Just tell them. We did this "take out" deal a couple of times. Otherwise they do have plenty of seating available there.

If you're looking for a quick counter service meal, the Contempo Cafe is the way to go. It's a great way to get into the feel of staying at the Contemporary, as it's out in the large open atrium of the tower and has the monorail right overhead. If you have a little more time for a sit-down meal, check out the Wave. This restaurant is a hiddle gem that often gets overlooked. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. It's on the first floor of the main Contemporary tower, near the front desk and Concierge.

I love the Wave, and you can usually get a table without a reservation. The Contempo Cafe is definitely the way to go if you want a quick serve kind of meal.
